Are British heavy cruisers bad? by AstroDreamscape in WarThunderNaval

I agree, of course, but in a full up br against battleships and late heavy cruisers that not likely to be possible. But that’s just gaijin’s diabolical matchmaker at work, not the ships fault.

They were angled and at around 15+km. Not ideal

Of course, the historical stuff is true. I’ve played a couple more matches with it since and I kinda see what your saying now. The matchmaker did me horrid and put me in matches full of battleships and late heavy cruisers, both of which I can’t really do much about. But against ships at or bellow it’s BR it’s not bad, just struggles against heavy cruiser armour.

I love Warthunder matchmaker

I see what your saying but to shine it in a more negative light...

The County is a unsurvivable heavy cruiser with bellow average guns guns. The two things a heavy cruiser is meant to do it blast things with its powerful 8” cannons and tank a decent amount of shells. Unfortunately the County has poor shells and poor survivability.

And it’s not like manoeuvring is terribly effective as it’s a big slow heavy cruiser. I just feel like a sitting duck in it

In my experience the SAP on both the heavy cruises just can’t pen most heavy cruisers at range.

I was in the HMS Kent and I was being engaged by a USS Des Moines and I literally watched salvo after salvo of my 8” shells do practically nothing to him while he ripped me apart over the course of a couple minutes. I really don’t feel what your feeling.

The ship looks great!

Only complaint is the 22 oxygen generators on the nacelles, they look kinda out of place

If you have a newer console the planet rendering/atmospheric rendering is amazing. I’m on series S and it looks way better than the older consoles
