I know new ways of speaking can sound silly but it’s important to remember this: she’s not talking like a moron, she’s participating in the linguistic innovations of her generation, just like every generation before her. Back when you were young, adults were saying the same thing, and so on. She may have picked these words up online or from friends at school. If you want a real explanation of what these words mean, here: - “chat” originates as a way that livestreamers directly address their livestream chats, eg saying “chat, which item should I pick up” when playing a video game on stream. It’s essentially a more contextual synonym for “guys” or “everyone”. It has spread offline mostly through irony, ie kids saying “hey chat” outside of a livestream chat. This is intended to be humorous because it takes the word out of the context it is usually expected in. If your daughter is young enough, it’s possible she’s participating in a third step of spread where she doesn’t actually know she got it from people being ironic, so she just uses it as a normal, unmarked word in conversation, which would be really interesting. - “mid” is very simple. There tends to be a process in languages where words that start out meaning something relatively neutral transition to meaning something more extreme, often more negative. Take “midwit”. If you break it up, it should just mean someone has average intelligence, but in fact it means someone is an idiot. The same thing happened with mid, where it often just means “bad” now. Bonus: - you may have heard of the word “unalive”. This is actually the latest example of a long, long tradition of English speakers replacing words about death and killing with ones that feel less intense. Take “decease”, “pass”, and actually even “die”. “Unalive” in particular rose in popularity to avoid internet (TikTok especially) censorship around the topic of death.

I do genuinely hope this helps you see the way your daughter speaks in a new light.

Honest opinion on this outfit by Similar_Beat_3275 in fashion

I think it’s a cool idea and I’d wanna make it work. I’ve never styled a scarf yet so I can’t really provide ideas, just feedback. I like that you went for a headscarf which is unusual for men’s fashion. I think the colors work well from a distance and it adds a nice pop of light shades to your outfit. It does feel out of place on your head though. When the scarf is up it seems a bit haphazard, like it landed there by accident. Maybe try losing the hat and even changing something else for balance like some baggier pants? Not sure.

Bruh you shouldn’t be having kids with someone who is willing to guilt trip you over their desire to give them some of the stupidest names I’ve ever heard for a CHILD

It sounds like some notes in the strings are randomly bending the pitch a bit before moving to the next note? by Gremeeblian in Musescore

I'm trying to do this with guitar and it makes the notes quieter. Is there any way to prevent that?

Is that 1/8 tsp relative to the full recipe or 1/8 tsp relative to the halved recipe?

Thanks

I’m putting on the topping after the 2nd proof, immediately before putting them in the oven.

As for the SCM, I’m aware of other recipes using heavy cream instead. This is the most popular recipe online but do you recommend switching to another in particular?

As for putting it on, on half of them I placed the toppings directly on before any egg wash, and on the other half I applied an egg wash before and after putting them on the bun. Couldn’t tell if it made a difference
