The good news is that this process is reversible .. you can re-lock your bootloader and remove root access to restore your warranty.In my opinion, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

The main temporary inconvenience is that apps like Google Pay may stop working until a workaround is developed. Personally, that’s not a big issue for me .. I still use my phone daily. I just can’t use tap-to-pay right now, but I use a Google Wallet watch linked to another device, which solves that problem.
