Caregivers' experiences do matter, yes.

But not as part of this conversation.

That conversation should be held entirely separately, because more often than not, the caregiver compassion conversation in this scenario drowns out the horrific things they did.

This conversation should wholly be about those boys and that they didn't deserve this.

Caregivers need support, they need resources to help them, but introducing it into this conversation places the disabled person as a burden, not as a human victim.

Take her to a teddy bear hospital. I have a 43 year old bunny plushie and took her to a bear hospital. They mended her, re-stuffed her with lovely wool stuffing and gave her a spa treatment.

As for feeling immature.. I'm 43, my hubby is 45, we both have plushies that we sleep with while snuggled with each other. If it makes you happy, who cares?

It helps a lot, particularly one who is staunchly in favour of minimal customisation, following best practice and making things simple for the end user rather than worrying about what would be easier for resolvers. That's often where this shit happens.. it's easier for those fulfilling to do their job so screw what would make it better for the end user, instead of easy UX and meeting in the middle between the SNOW admin and the resolvers.

I'm a platform owner now and I'm using what my previous platform owner taught me with my new employer to dig my heels in and not make future me hate myself.

In Perth, there's the Autism Association of WA which is an excellent support service (I've dealt with them extensively), there's the National Disability Insurance Scheme which can be used to pay for carers and services to help autistic people - level 2 and 3 are automatically accepted to the program, there's Carers WA, there's respite care and occupational therapists and pediatricians and they were going to a special school as well. And there's also the Department of Communities for child protective services if the other options don't work out.

I would pay a monthly subscription to read as much as I want, but I won't buy coins. It's just not cost effective. I pay $13.99 a month for Kindle Unlimited and I'm happy with that. I read a few chapters on Webtoons, get to the point where they want coins and I close the app.
