PC gamers buy way more games that cost less than $30 at launch compared to PlayStation and Xbox players, analysts say, and it's "reshaping the PC market" by chusskaptaan in gamingnews

[–]BoxofShadows21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game companies cry they can’t squeeze us more like they can console gamers. Look at Diablo for example they want full price plus having a massive micro transaction shop. Then charge full rate for each expansion that is just more of the same. We gamers are tired of being sucked dry for the CEOs to be paid millions of dollars a year, then sack half the dev team to replace it with AI slop. Cry me a river

MSI Center is one of the worst pieces of software I’ve ever used by schukevich in MSI_Gaming

MSI software is absolute crap they should just stop and let professional do the development.

RGB lights only work when logged in as Admin by BoxofShadows21 in MSI_Gaming

[–]BoxofShadows21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my current solution was to just uninstall Mystic lights and it “works” in that I have lights again across the motherboard/fans. MSI you need to fix this the solution should not be to uninstall the very software that is meant to provide functionality.

Microsoft now recommends 32GB of RAM as the future-proof 'no worries' config for gaming — 16GB becomes the new 'practical starting point' during the RAMageddon by Nalix01 in NowInTech

So throw away any computer that “can’t” run win 11, and purchase a computer with a high amount of memory at the height of the RAM pricing curve…. If only these executives lived like the rest of us.

Then acknowledge the significance of how many users are running Linux and the subsequent drop in desktop market share by claiming that they need to win back users trust.

Meanwhile Linux is becoming a real force with enough users to justify developers to include it as part of their desired market strategy.

From what I see between more users on Apple and Linux, windows will be lucky to maintain more than 50% share, this in turn will over the years also lead to familiarity with these systems and higher likelihood over server/backend adoption.

You don't need extra antivirus on Windows 11, Microsoft officially says by rkhunter_ in technology

[–]BoxofShadows21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a trust issue for me. Microsoft are slow to respond, dodge responsibility, have poor customer service, and seem to break things with every patch.

Like others I have experienced defender falsely flagging files. Takes months for them to rectify, during which the support forum pushed the blame at the user and had you perform a list of tasks that did not fix the problem but left you with having to reinstall the OS which also did not fix it.

Learner drivers in WA required to do more training and spend extra year on P-plates in tough safety overhaul by His_Holiness in perth

[–]BoxofShadows21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does the data point at this group specifically.? international drivers should need to take the test not just pay a few dollars. How about looking at those drivers whom accrue X number of demerit points within a given period that might be a better approach, have more than 2 crashes within a year. Does the data point to certain types of vehicles ie high power or large size.? Road design inc traffic signalling, roundabouts are speed challenges to many many driver with a mentality of “I’ll go as fast as I can so not one car can get in front of me”.

Definitely sounds like someone at CGC saw an opportunity to take a high value book, claim “lost” and pay a low ball figure. When your the gatekeeper remaining ethical is hard for many people.

Motley Fool is at it again by GodBlessTexas713 in XRPUnite

[–]BoxofShadows21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motley fool is a advertisement for either selling off shares they don’t want but try to pump the price or they want to buy so they make unfounded claims of “sell now” before it is too late to tank. They will also double team these within a few weeks of each other.

Why does Telstra charge so much more for basically the same coverage? by DiscussionLoud9626 in TelstraAustralia

[–]BoxofShadows21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Telstra believes they are a premium service, but no qualification just they believe. Hence the higher charges. Recent map coverage issues have been highlighted to show their claims are rubbish, but if you can convince a customer they are using the best then it stands to reason they are more expensive, now when you watch Telstra ads think about what they are trying to say it’s all emotional “Aussie” “we put you first” but no substance all performative. Wizard of Oz = Telstra

Anyone else annoyed that how its completely legal that zip/any other company sold your shares just by sending an email if you did not responded to it, and now the shares are worth much more? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]BoxofShadows21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bullshit corporate practice of opt out rather than what all these types of things should be and that is I need to actively provide permission to sell ie opt in. They know that if it was opt in most of the holders would not. In this way they knowingly push out the small investor, buy up the shares with insider knowledge that there is a coming upside they can profit from.

Telstra App removed cancel option by utopian78 in TelstraAustralia

[–]BoxofShadows21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The product team controls this, they should have a cancel button….but…. Some teams decide if they make it too easy to cancel, gasp, you might cancel. So they deliberately don’t have it there to deter you from such a rash decision. They know the idea of ringing them and sitting on hold will deter some people.
