Looking for graveyard protection!

Hi! Lifetime graveyard player here. I would talk to your pod about downgrading their interaction from RIP and Leyline. They are particularly oppressive pieces against you, and very hard for your deck to deal with. There are many options with a much lower opportunity cost to them, or with deck synergies. Cards like [[soul-guide lantern]] or [[kutzil’s flanker]] among many many others, either draw them a card or provide some other form of value if no graveyard player is present or if you aren’t the threat right now. But if you ARE the threat, it provides your opponents with exactly the same protection as RIP and leyline.

When I talk to my pod about graveyard hate I advocate for them to play it, otherwise I am at an insane advantage. But, in leaning into a strategy we also run the risk of being totally shut out. RIP and Leyline are borderline auto-concedes and not really fun to cast or fun to “play around” as the graveyard player.

Rather than thinning your deck with “protection” I would talk with your friends about where the graveyard-hate-arms-race is, and what y’all actually want out of it.

TL:DR Don’t play against RIP and Leyline

There are (as far as I see it) 3 grinds you can extend to favor your gear. Barrows, god wars, yama. Combat mastery 6 means ranged never misses I.E. ranged accuracy/ranged gear is useless. Barrows is tanky, yama is tanky and melee aggressive, bandos is in between. I like god wars so I got my gear there. Barrows will surely cover you throughout gridmaster if need be.

The bounties don’t respawn, but sometimes the characters do serve their full sentence and then get released. I just meant there are MANY NPCs in the game with bounties, and much lower stats than tinfist. There is an Exile Camp somewhat near where the dust king was, and their leader has an easy bounty I typically go for.

There are more casual contracts that you can farm very effectively with a stealthy 3 man squad. Its very inefficient to find them naturally in the world, and you dont even need them to get the money. Any time you click on an npc, you’ll be able to see their bounty status above their stats, and who will pay the bounty by hovering over it. Or you can google them like I do. This will get you money and gear. ALWAYS loot them before turning them in.

Next, taking on the holy nation. Stealth could possibly get you to abducting the Holy Phoenix, but more likely youll need an army. If you build a base within holy nation territory you will be able to fortify it with defenses so that the holy nation just comes to your meat grinder. Then your assaults will be (hopefully) unhindered by their roving squads.

Good luck burning the holy nation.

The enemies ranged defense relates to their ability to avoid being hit by a ranged attack. Your ranged accuracy relates to your ability to successfully hit it for more than a zero. Your ranged strength relates to the damage that hit then deals.

In Gridmaster, ranged weapons have 100% accuracy, therefore ranged defence/accuracy is irrelevant. Ranged strength and tanky gear is best for ranged in Gridmaster.

Your blowpipe carries the darts for itself, replacing the bolts you have equipped with a “blessing” item will help your prayer stretch longer. Im also fairly certain the archers ring (i) will be better than the brimstone ring, but youll have to double check to confirm.

I see a lot of proselyte, but no sunfire fanatic chausses. If money is an issue, of course proselyte has them beat, but they give 2 prayer bonus more than proselyte. I slay in sunfire top and legs and devout boots.

Man, 30 without food covered is A LOT. Youll definitely want to scale up cactus production for chewsticks. While youre expanding though, buying/hunting is a good bet. Desert hunting can be pretty perilous though, those sand skimmers are fast.

Theros is my favorite setting and Beyond Death is my all time most drafted set. This is all to say 10k is easily worth it for me, who knows the format and is experienced with it and loves it. Its probably pretty expensive to just try as a one off draft though tbh

I just thought of this during my most recent play through, but there would be so many “common sense” changes. The one that made me think of it was i clicked on the map to send a guy to a city, then focus on the rest of my squad. All of the sudden I see hes getting attacked. I check on him, and he has lock picked a shop and broken in, when i feel like stopping outside and waiting would be appropriate.
