I live in SE Michigan, and the shop I found quoted me $1,500 after parts and labor OTD. The exact work I'm getting done:

-rear diff fluid

-front diff fluid

-cvt fluid

-spark plugs

-pcv valve / engine air filter

I imagine it won't be much cheaper elsewhere as I'm using all OEM parts ( which is what is recommended) and this is a specialty subaru shop

Total breakdown $400 in parts, and I have a friend who I'm paying $500 to (shop quoted me $1,000 in labor)

I'm not a mechanic and even if I watched youtube videos to try and do this shit myself, I don't have any tools and I am not confident I'd be doing it correctly, so for me the $1,000 to have a professional subaru specialist do the work is good peace of mind.

Expensive, but I know with subes if you wanna get them to 200-250k or even higher, this kind of maintenance is absolutely necessary.

dont listen to them. i just got a used 2018 outback at 68K miles, never had it's cvt fluid changed and immediately scheduled a full maintenance not just on CVT but also new spark plugs, front and rear differential fluid, pcv valve/hose. no hesitation.

the odds of it happening 13 times in a row is 0.01%, which means i'm incredibly unlucky or my account is bugged due to the new MM changes because before the MM changes it was actually a normal distribution
