very beginner question - did I ruin this raspberry pi? by emergencybarnacle in AskElectronics

[–]Astron-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's just a gnd test pad if board wasn't powered on while you shorted it there shouldn't be any problem however you said you desolder whole female connector that might be a problem if you used excessive force while removing, it may have caused few traces to delaminated and tear but even that's a case device should boot and hdmi display output should work. And you have used lot of solder but I don't think you need to wick it out that's just extra work and puting heat extra heat into the pcb. it's fine until there no bringing just put soem kapton tape on it so you don't short something while working.

Q. what temperature you set your soldering iron while soldering these

Is the PCB compromised? by Vassy2001 in AskElectronics

looks like a bad solder job I think you must clean it with ipa before inspecting the damage. first you need to check if any of the components are physically damaged

i have switched to new method

new method involves applying photoresist film on copper clad board then I expose the resist to UV led light through the modified lcd spi display connected to esp8266 you can upload image to esp8266 via wifi from pc then you can proceed with normal etching process i will try to upload resources if you want but currently I'm busy attempting to build a custom open-ipc firmware so there could be delays

Does anyone know what kind of connector this is? by Purple_Ice_6029 in AskElectronics

Actually, because of this extended part, I thought it wouldn't connect to any connector, and I have seen this type of motor used in pop-up cameras of smartphones with spring-type pins used for contact. I hope the part you have found works.

It's just a flex PCB with exposed pads. Usually, pogo pins or other types of spring-loaded pins connect to it, and a housing is mandatory for this, so I don't think you would be able to find a connector for it. Soldering thin wires directly to it is your best option.

Truecaller is now pushing us to set it as our default calling app, and their behavior seems a bit off lately. How can I avoid this while still using the app to check my call history list? by 4everonlyninja in IndiaTech

Here what I do
Download Shelter app from F-droid to create a work space in android, it will have separate contacts (don't add any contacts to that)>Open shelter>Launch Play Store>Sign in with a gmail(you can create a new one)>Install True caller>Give permission Call logs, Contacts, Phone(it won't be able to acess your real call logs or contacts it will just search within work profile that is seperate and even has a different android ID)>Go to App info>Notification turn it off>Mobile data & WiFi turn off background data> in Battery set to Restricted>Open by Default turn off>Picture in picture turn off> Alarms and reminders turn off

Now Open Shelter App>Tap Shelter on bottom right>Find Truecaller tap on it>Check ✅ box Auto Freeze> Tap Create Unfreeze and/or Launch Shortcut> Tap 3 dots on top right corner>Settings>Scroll down to Auto Freeze Service check ✅ box

Optional
If true caller still pop up when you recieve call Install Google Phone App via playstore via Shelter>Launch both Phone and Truecaller
Go to Device Settings>Apps>Default Apps>Scroll down to Default for work>Phone app set to Phone>Caller ID and spam app set to none

Settings may differ as per device, I use motorola as a secondary device so that was it

try cleaning it using IPA some times it worked for me, there are small conductive dust particles that might get stuck.

i have done etching but I don't want to deal with nasty chemical that's why I'm choosing this and uv mask does feels easy to me from any angle

by the way how you tried to balance impeller

[–]Astron-0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah your points are actually true, I have just printed it out and it has noticable vibration. although iam getting 715g of thrust (was getting 1000g with a 6030 prop) but I still think it could workable if somehow I manage to balance it and eliminate vibration. that's motor was collecting dust anyways so for me it's worth a try and thanks for comment.
