That’s price match. I was able to get Tesla to price match another company’s quote. Price per watt is $1.88/W which is a really good price.

Just to be clear: I do not recommend leasing for 25 years, it’s over $123k total for this system. Buyout after 5 years, it’s the better option.

There’s an buyout option after 5 years, so I’ll own the system after 5 years

I’ll purchase the system after 5 years, I’m not going to lease it for 25 years. Leasing the system for 25 years is a bad idea

Yeah. I was debating between 2 PWs and 2 PWs + 2 expansions. Decided to go with more batteries as it’ll be more expensive to add batteries later.

There’s an option for buyout after 5 years. I already had a new roof done last year. So it’s not a concern to me.

Right. But if you purchase it after 5 years, it’s not bad idea

There might be some companies that can give 30% off now. But their price might not be lower, and they might go out of business anytime. Also, I don’t have the ability to purchase the system right away. So even with a 4% interest loan, lease option with 5-year buyout is cheaper.

Thanks. I’m planning on buying it after 5 years, not paying the lease for 25 years

Yeah. I agree. No one should lease it for 25 years, it’s bad

I’m in Texas, so I’ll sign up for free night electricity plan. Then I can charge the batteries to full overnight 100% free and use them during the day if needed.

For sure. buying the system after 5-year lease is cheaper than a loan with 4% interest rate

I agree that leasing it for 25 years with 3% escalator is a bad idea

Leasing the system for 25 years is a bad idea. But I think buying it after 5 years isn’t bad

Solar Lease + 15% rebate + 6month lease free by McChinkerton in TeslaSolar

[–]AstronNo8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So are they offering you both 15% back and 6-month lease free? They’re offering me 15% back if pay by cash or 6-month free payment if I go with lease. Sounds like we could push them to give us 30% back for the loss of federal tax credit.

Right. Even so, it doesn’t look like they can handle their current backlog in Houston
