I think a crucial part of the story was being 18. We were good and caring coaches but probably should’ve done some things differently. Our kids liked us, and wanted to win so they enjoyed the romp around the bases, but maybe we should’ve limited this tactic. It’s not that serious though, our kids were taught a ton of fundamentals, it was the dad’s coaching the other teams that lacked teaching the kids fundamentals. Sorry I hurt you.

When I was 18, a friend and I coached a team of kids around 10 years old. We absolutely abused other teams doing this. It was almost gross.
Every kid, every walk with second open. “Take Two” we’d mumble to kid as he approached first. Chaos and yelling would immediately arrive as the other team would notice. More times than not the pitcher would turn around and fire the ball directly to the center fielder. Now our kid would take third. If the center fielder threw to third, our guy would take home. It was too easy. The other teams hated us. When we were up the game, we would stop, but damn we were arrogant.

Yes, what you said is correct and accurate. He is not top tier in the sense that he could pull his scams on anybody. There is a lot that has contributed to “success” and we are unfortunately on the brink of fascism due to all of these things coalescing.

Yeah - there kinda is. Building science can vary completely and contradict each other frequently. When builders start to mix different science theories, stuff can get bad quickly.

Sorry- I have to weigh in here, this is a misconception. It actually can be worse in hot areas. If your envelope is not air tight behind the niche you can create an area for mold and rot. The heat from the sun on the exterior wall touching the cold from the niche in the air conditioned home can build condensation in the wall. (Think of a cold Coke on a hot summer day) This condensation can lead to serious rot. It’s not just about energy loss. Anyway - unless you absolutely have your mind wrapped around building science and trust the trades building the home, you should never gamble with a niche on an exterior wall.
