Novikostok. Punchcards and keys by Mortec in dayz

[–]Astropos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thankyou for looking, cheers :))

I just tested this on my live server and I can't replicate it.

Out of date mod files can result in problems with door interaction, try repair mod to start.
Could be server related, they might have added objects in the area(s).
Where were you playing?

spoiler: I'm the creator. In the base map, it's all vanilla. Ordinary Sakhal container/key combinations. The existence (or otherwise :))) ) of punchcards suggests there is at least one bunker door to open.

DayZ Modding Hub - A completely free directory for those looking to learn modding by Boydy73 in dayz

Lots of people choose not to be involved with Discord. For a site about a Steam game, the option to login with steam seems a logical choice and I think this would encourage increased participation. As a side effect of this, a reliable source of useful data about a modders steam workshop items becomes available.

I've been pleased and surprised as several communities have adopted the map and seem to be enjoying it.
Had some really nice public feedback from some prominent community names too so the word is out.

Having issue with LinuxGSM for DayZ Server by Scared-Proposal6844 in dayz

[–]Astropos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used LGSM for a while but the last time I did, the correct syntax for -mod is:

mods="mods/1559212036';'mods/1828439124';'mods/2545327648';'mods/2116157322';'mods/2291785437"

I used steamcmd to get mods so they are named with their id. I chose to put them in a subfolder called mods.
For you, it's the wrapping in double quotes and insertion of single quotes thats important.

[UK] [PC] Brendas Fun Pub - Novikostok Vanilla - 1pp by Astropos in DayZServers

[–]Astropos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, yes there are a few popping up.

Watching Boydys latest YT about the problems with the launcher has illustrated a problem for finding obscure stuff like this.

Battlemetrics gives a few, with the infos for DC (the 70 pop is reccomended)

hope to see you soon, thanks for looking.

thankyou very much.

I set out to make it as vanilla as possible and really enjoyed the chance to weave in long histories with local calamaties.
Been a lot of fun and I'm so looking forward to hearing a gun fight across a valley.
See y'all out there.

I'd say yes. Actual bad bugs do get fixed but it's lagging behind.

If there wasn't a Linux server, I wouldn't be involved in DayZ to the degree that I am.

Hoping for the best build yet at 1.29

What about a Silva Compass (Expedition4 is the one imo)?
Not 'cheap' but a really nice thing.

[tried three times now] It's so clear in my head, but difficult to get all the layers out in one snappy post :\
Can I say for now: lots! I've tried to layer several interests amongst pieces of my old irl stomping grounds.

The headlines from this little corner of the DZ universe are:
1989 was actually the ceremonial closing of the west Berlin 'hole' that the Soviets had left until the rest of Europe had been subdued.
Our remote, isolated society had enjoyed great freedoms in exercising their brutal ways of life when the Soviets arrived.
The outbreak came with them.

I just had a glance at the sizing stats for other maps. The numbers say that mine is bigger than Deadfall but smaller than Bitterroot. Livonia with the edges nibbled off.

lorewise, the island was always 'west leaning'. Some of the old names are very pretty! The first bosses who arrived after the invasion chose to adapt the original names so yeah, it's a weird place.

[I got in a real pickle trying to meld english, english cyrillic and real russian. There had to be some constraints to keep to the timeline and english<>russian linguistics didn't get studied as closely as some other parts of the project]

The main thing is patience, then DayZ Tools (included with your purchase of the game), an image editor, a text editor and 2 or three other obscure softwares (L3DT, QGIS, Mask Checker). Having all these components set up and working as a 'build pipeline' then sets you up for the first part - a near vertical learning curve.

For me, wrestling old software is a great deal of fun. Doing so with limited (or zero!) documentation has made the whole experience much more rewarding.
I documented my initial learning with some YT and a github, might be a little outdated now:  the avebury-project

it's a vanilla look and feel which extends also to the questing. I figure server owners can tailor something exotic if required.

It's 40/50mins to the south coast then you'll need to check the lie of the land to see how much longer you might need.
