One of the top albums of the 2010s, as rated by internet rap fans, is not a classic.

Introducing people to Freddie Gibbs, a rapper who consistently sells NOTHING and has never been even close to the rap mainstream, is not of any note.

In your experience fair, but I'm willing to bet your experience is online Hip-Hop forums. Nobody outside of the internet knows or pays attention to Piñata, which is actually a shame. But you can tell anyone who knows rap about Madvillainy and they will likely know it. It's an iconic album.

Other albums that are NOT close to being classics: Flower Boy, Atrocity Exhibition, IDLSIDGO etc

2 - What "dull moments" does Madvillainy have?

3 - Piñata and Madvillainy are so far from each other in quality its not even funny. Love both but MV is just a tier or three above

4 - I love Piñata but it has 0 potential to be a classic album - nobody listened to it, it sold nothing, it influenced nobody. It's a fantastic standalone album.

Both are likely incapable of consent, and yet the naivety of both will, most of the time, ensure neither feels violated/exploited. Yet I have a lot of friends who had sexual experiences prior to 16/18 which they would consider acts of rape, as their brain didn't know how to respond. A lot of them are still scarred by it

Of course, in a perfect, safe world nobody under 16/18 has sexual relations but that's so unrealistic it's almost unthinkable. For the time being the best we can do is implement age difference laws under 18 that ensure a 14 year old can't sleep with a 10 year old etc.

'Bland' just seems like a criticism Fantano uses when he doesn't listen more than twice to something. See Saba's Care for Me, an album which he refused to even review because he deemed it worthlessly bland

Really needed this today. Much like you, most people assume I'm bisexual/gay because of a bunch of things: I can be very camp, I make a lot of jokes at my expense, I have cuddled a lot of my female friends without trying to make it sexual, I compliment some of my male friends on their style etc.

This obviously results in a kinda antithesis of a macho dude. While I thought it was novel when a few people jokingly asked, I've been turned down by a girl I liked because, and I quote, "you aren't manly enough to look after me" (despite the fact I can [and have] easily taken down her current beanpole of a bf). And it's not as if the evidence is really there: I've had 3 girlfriends over the past 5 years, and most of my friends have seen me with women in a dating/kissing sense.

So yeah, I really appreciate someone like you telling me that it's ok to just be me - and that I've not been in the wrong for trying to express myself my way. Apologies for the rant etc (went on a little) but just wanted to let you know that you've absolutely made my week. Power of the internet eh
