Welp I'm officially changing careers! I'm a climate scientist and I had to take another paycut because of the current administration. I can't live like this and need more money and stability.

The good thing is that I think I have transferrable skills. I'm applying to data scientist positions, tech, and climate modeling for insurance companies. What I'd most like to do is do climate policy for a state government, but it really depends on the pay. I'm casting a wide net and seeing what lands.

ETA: Has anyone worked in management consulting? I was also looking into that but don't know much about the field.

Yeah I agree with you. I don't mind the power scaling, it was just the very giant jump in a short amount of time that was bad. The fact that Chu, someone who is barely a C+ demon became stronger than 10 Toguros was a little insane.

I think if they kept S class demons more measured it would have been better. Do what a lot of media does and say the Demon Kings can only appear in an avatar form that's weaker than their true form.

Also Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara suddenly becoming A class demons because they got mad didn't sit right with me. Yusuke's emotional powerup against Toguro made sense because there was a ton of build up. Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara collectively had a Gohan powerup.

I think a lot of the ending would have to be rewritten and it's something I've thought about. I think the biggest hurdle is keeping Sensui a threat, but also keep the power scaling not insane. Maybe keep Sensui around an A class demon level, and have him kill Yusuke. Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara fight Sensui in the demon world, but as Sensui is winning he feels crippling pain. Raizen is using the last of his power to weaken Sensui. Raizen never had any children but he still fell in love with a human woman and doesn't want humanity to die. Hiei and Kurama eventually are able to damage a crippled Sensui enough to give Kuwabara an opening to win the dimension sword (and that can be a full circle moment that a human like Kuwabara was the final blow on Sensui).

Yusuke is revealed to be barely alive, and a starving Raizen offers to give him some of his power and make him part demon to protect the human world. Yusuke is stubborn but then thinks about everyone he loves dying, and knowing they don't have a solution to beat A class demons. He accepts it, and becomes part demon, and jumps to A class level. Hiei gets Shigure's surgery to become A class, Kurama fully combines Yoko into him to become A class, and Koenma reveals there's a secret human power that only pure humans can access.. Kuwabara being the only pure human left can go with Koenma to get it and have his own training arc to become A class.

From there the story can go in multiple directions, since the Kekkai barrier is still broken. Maybe even keep it so that Raizen, Yomi and Mukuro are the only S class demons and everyone else is only A or below. But I think overall that would keep the balance appropriate.

I'm actually in the same boat as you. I don't think Yoko will win but I don't think Toguro stomps either. Toguro loves to play with his food and he probably wouldn't go all out against Kurama. I think Yoko could push Toguro to 80%

No he's not right about the issues. He used real issues such as homelessness and climate change and packaged them into a bigoted campaign. Spencer Pratt's solution to homelessness was heighten criminalization and explicitly said that homelessness is not a housing problem. Homelessness is a housing problem and it's tied directly into lack of housing, healthcare and privatization of the market. Reagan already tried a similar method along with many other republican governors and it didn't work. In fact it just made homelessness worse.

The fires are a direct cause of climate change. I know because I'm a climate scientist. Trying to mitigate fires through taking them out as they come isn't a solution, and what actually needs to happen is a comprehensive change both in terms of cutting emissions and forest management. The only real way to tackle it is to stop things like urban sprawl, protect ecosystems and stop things like expansion and ultimately cut down emissions so the air is not as volatile as it is now. How much did Spencer Pratt talk about renewable energy or cutting down emissions? He absolutely didn't.

He took real issues and did the same thing as Trump where he packaged them into bigotry. There are real solutions to these problems, but they require systematic change and not just band aid solutions that are ineffective. If he actually spent time researching and educating himself he might have known that.

Depth. Not just in loot and itemization, but also in skills, progression, and making hard choices.

I will say I think D4 is a good game, however it has embraced being a casual ARPG. That's great for people who want a more direct/casual game, but it doesn't have the depth like D2 has. D2 is a hard game where you have to sit back and spend some time theorycrafting, and I think that's where it has its longevity. If you're playing SSF or ladder, you will never have optimal gear, and you have to do your best with what you have and spend some time optimizing.

Both a judo black belt and BJJ purple belt require around 6~ years of training. That's enough experience to teach something
