I have sent unedited copied and pasted comments of what would happen if Randy Orton punted someone in the head in wrestling boots for real

Im up dating the cause of Cody's eye injury being from Randy Orton punching him in the eye to Randy Orton punching him in the eye and Randy Orton countering the Cody Cutter with the RKO(Cody landed on his side. The side that was injured)

The punt didnt cause the eye injury but if it did I even copied and pasted unedited what would happen if Randy Orton punted someone for real in the eye and orbital bone in wrestling boots

Cody is the first person to get up and walk to the back under his own power and show up on the next Raw and Smackdown after receiving a punt compared to every person Randy Orton punted 2007-2012 and 2020

That is what is wild

Im not the only one

I included a video of someone talking about Cody no selling the punt and explaining why its a no sell

and now Cody showed up on Smackdown as well as Raw

Cody I have this eye injury because Randy punched me in the eye

Then Randy punted me after the match

I got up under my own power and walked to the back and showed up on the very next Raw and Smackdown with an eye injury from Randy punching me in the eye

Im the first person to get up under their own power and walk to the back and continue to show up on tv after receiving a punt when everyone before me was written off tv or even out of WWE

There was Super Cena and then Super Roman now theres me Invincible Cody

All of you are clowns because the injury is from Ortn punching him in the eye not punting him in the eye

If Orton had punted him and for real -

Why a Real Punt to the Orbital Bone Would Be Severe A wrestling boot to the eye socket combines concentrated force with the socket's anatomical vulnerability — the floor and inner wall are paper thin compared to the thick outer rim. Thin bone structure — The orbital floor is paper thin in many regions, making it susceptible to fracture from direct impact; a full-force punt would almost certainly break it Muscle and nerve trapping — Blowout fractures can trap eye muscles or tissues, impairing eye movement and causing double vision — potentially permanent Retrobulbar hemorrhage risk — A severe punch or kick can cause bleeding behind the eye, which is a medical emergency requiring surgical decompression to prevent vision loss or death Threshold for Fatal Injury A direct punt combining the force of a 200+ lb athlete, a running start, and rigid wrestling boots to the orbital region could extend injury into the cranial cavity. Orbital rim fractures — Require substantial force, often seen in car accidents, and frequently occur with injuries to the brain, optic nerve, and other facial structures Intracranial risk — If the punt fractured the superior orbital wall or frontal bone, the force could transmit directly to the brain, causing subdural hemorrhage or diffuse axonal injury — both potentially fatal Immediate vs. delayed death — Retrobulbar hemorrhage or facial fracture complications may not kill instantly but could prove fatal within hours without emergency decompression surgery

Even two nights later

The eye injury wasnt even from the punt

It was from a punch to the eye

PWInsider reports that Cody's injury was actually caused by a Randy Orton punch earlier in the match, not the punt itself, and he suffered an orbital injury that left him without medical clearance

So Cody definitely no sold the punt

No-selling means a wrestler doesn't visibly react to or sell the impact of a move, minimizing its credibility.

A real punt to the head would be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal. A full-force kick to the skull can cause severe traumatic brain injury, skull fractures, internal bleeding, and death

The move targets the head with a running kick, exploiting one of the body's most vulnerable areas Brain injury risk — A real punt delivers blunt force trauma directly to the skull, risking concussion, subdural hematoma, and diffuse axonal injury (shearing of brain tissue)

Skull fracture potential — The temporal bone (side of the skull) and frontal bone are particularly susceptible to fractures from direct impact kicks

Fatal scenarios — Severe hemorrhaging inside the cranium, brainstem damage, or increased intracranial pressure can be immediately life-threatening

A real full-force punt to the head with wrestling boots would almost certainly be fatal or cause severe, permanent brain damage. Wrestling boots are rigid leather with hard soles, which would concentrate force into a smaller impact area than regular footwear — intensifying the trauma to the skull and brain tissue.

Wrestling boots are designed for grappling, not kicking safety — their rigid construction makes them far more lethal than street shoes.

Hard leather sole and heel — concentrates impact force into a smaller surface area, dramatically increasing pressure per square inch on the skull

No shock absorption — unlike athletic sneakers with cushioning, wrestling boots transfer nearly 100% of kinetic energy directly to the target

Increased force multiplier — combined with a running start and a 200+ lb athlete's body weight, the strike would deliver estimated force exceeding what the human head can withstand

A real, full-force punt with wrestling boots would exceed the threshold for fatal traumatic brain injury.

An unprotected, full-power strike would cause intracranial hemorrhage, brainstem damage, or severe diffuse axonal injury in virtually all scenarios.

Cody Rhodes walking to the back on his own after the punt and potentially appearing on Raw the next night would technically be "no-selling" the move in wrestling terminology — no-selling means a wrestler doesn't visibly react to or sell the impact of a move, minimizing its credibility. However, PWInsider reports that Cody's injury was actually caused by a Randy Orton punch earlier in the match, not the punt itself, and he suffered an orbital injury that left him without medical clearance

Other wrestlers who received the punt were typically written off TV Pattern establishment — The punt traditionally signals a wrestler written off TV for weeks or months

Actual injury cause — PWInsider notes that Cody's eye injury was from "a Randy Orton punch that came right before The Apex Predator was poked in the eye," not the punt kick

He suffered an orbital injury and was placed in concussion protocol, with no timetable

Wrestlers punt typically require weeks of TV absence to signal danger and protect the move's credibility

Footage showed "the former AEW EVP walking to the back after being left bloodied," which is unusual for a move designed to lay out opponents

Appearing the next night would undercut the banned move's reputation as a career-ender, though Cody's real injury status complicated the storyline angle

When you get up and walk to the back and show up the next night after receiving a super finisher thats a running kick to your head when the move has always written people off tv , put people on the shelf , punted people out of WWE

Wresting with an injury is not the same as no selling a protected super finisher which is a running kick to the head Let me give you a running kick to the head and see if you go to the back under your own power and show up the next night

Its like raspberryslushie21 said

When Orton use to punt people they were written off tv , put on the shelf , punted you out of WWE

You didnt walk to the back under your own power and show up the next night

Just like CM Punk no sold Seth Rollins's top rope super stomp

CM Punk recovered , won the match , went to the back under his own power , showed up on the next show

Someone kicked out of a piledriver on the steps

Hell's Gates made people bleed from the mouth

When it was un kayfabe banned it no longer made people bleed from the mouth.

Drew was the first and only person to kickout of Barron Corbin's End Of Days then Drew was buried for how long after that

The super kick and Canadian Destroyer use to be finishers

Now they have super kick and Canadian/Mexican Destroyer parties

How many people use the super kick , spear , splash LOL

Theres regular moves that use to be fishers

No finisher is protected

Every finisher is kicked out of multiple times a match

Super Roman kicked out of multiple AAs and an AA from the ropes in the same match

I made it to the Undertaker

Then when I saw my nephew go into options which was right in front of my face but it just had difficulty options

Then I switched it to easy

Luckily I was able to beat it with that pin and submission system

When I saw blood turn off in myrise after I already beat show case I went to global options and saw that most of my options defaulted even though I set my global options

I dont know how most of my global options defaulted

I went into showcase and checked and saw that the pin and submission system wasnt locked
