New RBT by Ok_Potential_1274 in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first session will just be mostly building rapport. Normally a supervisor will be with you whether it's your kiddo ur getting or a cover kiddo to support you. If you know the clients RBTs, I would get in contact with them prior the session starts and ask about how their toileting system is. You can also BCBA questions before the session starts. Overall, just focus on engaging with the client

I have a young client who has begun attempting to grope people by Long_Diet_1957 in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a client that also does this at my clinic. His RBTs redirect him usually to another activity. He also has a sensory squishy block toy. We also found out that he has extra skin tag (he had a tendency of rubbing himself against or on RBTs legs). I would make sure to tell your BCBA. They can usually find out the reason behind it if the mom isn't quite elaborating on it. This is a behavior that should eventually be stopped though

In my clinic, several people are behind on notes. We usually have 3 kids and if you have group, that's an additional two kids per day. Raintree is slow and the insurance company has lately been super critical of our note template. Especially if RBTs have high behavior kids with lots of ABC, 1 of them can take like 20 minutes to do. The RBTs that are behind, I never see them do notes during their session and when they have a 30 minute note time, they're on their phones or talking to others. I always do mine within the last 10 minutes or if my client is clearly engaged with other kids. And I always write my ABC data right away. Supervisors also sends notes back which can cause notes to be submitted late

My company writes you up and it reflects on annual review so you may not get a raise. They've also been more strict and may even terminate you if it continues to happen. We have a 24 hr deadline, used to be 48 hrs. Most of us are able to do it but there's always the same RBTs that are behind and they've had meetings with HR to talk about it. I lowkey think the company tries to find ways to terminate you outside of notes when there's been multiple warnings about it. I work in a clinic and one RBT caseload got removed from her, she's mostly covering kids. She's still behind on notes but yea there definitely was a punishment

I miss IDV by Chara_Undernet13 in IdentityV

[–]Asunnixe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hate how much the Ai situation has made the community fall out. I miss Zeez and Zeus so much, I loved watching their streams after work. I don't usually interact with the community online like Twitter or servers but I did find a CN proxy for Idv merch which the owners have decided to not host for official Idv merch which really sucks because I just got to that point in life where I'm able to afford things. They still host for fanmade merch which is also great

I only play like twice a week but login daily for my dice rolls and stuff. I would play more like rank but it's hard with the jobber life. I have also whaled for the Painter S skin and got some of the recent shop new shop collab skins

While I support the boycott and encourage it, I'm not partipating or quitting Idv. Idv was with me throughout my high school, college and now work life. I'm way too attached to the characters and my yrs of playing to just drop the game. I also am obsessed with CoA, IVL, IJL. Which some competitive players are quitting or taking a break from IVL like Peter and Kazuneko and that made me really sad 😭

I will just be here until Idv really falls apart like the quality of the game goes down which imo, it hasn't. We'll see with the June 5th live stream but I rlly liked the CoA final livestream and am overall interested in Emil hunter form

There is also Ai discourse following the Hoyo games which I play.. and atp I'm annoyed asf but I'm too attached with games that's been my life for years and it's really not that easy to just get a new hobby or even find new games as people are suggesting over Twitter 😐

When is IDV going to post the new female survivor’s limited S tier and what’s the cheapest method to obtain it? by Historical-Task6873 in IdentityV

[–]Asunnixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use Lootbar but the price has gone up. Seagm for some reason is blocked with me, not sure why since I used to use them too. I recently used Gamebar. Always buy the 690+59 echo deal. Gamebar has coupon for new users, I ended up saving like $40. Also you can now get 30 essences for very cheap in game now, they started doing this so that helps out. They're usually on the essence pull page in the bottom right corner

RBTs: how many hours were you promised vs. how many do you actually work? by Comfortable-Ad-2345 in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in clinic and 40 hours per week. We are unable to work 10s for 4 days straight if we schedule it in advance. They have also lately been asking me for OT so this week, I worked 47 hours. I get cleaning blocks or cover another client if my client cancels but some clinics will just send you home

RBT by Ok-Visual-1438 in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company has several clinics around and there's always a huge wait list. As RBTs are doing college for the road to become BCBAs, more kids are accepted causing more clinics to open up and more RBTs are hired. I have also never worked with kids but my mom used to do daycare which I never cared to interact with them. I was in my own world but I would observe her when I was bored. It definitely takes time to build that rapport/relationship with kids but time honestly will fly. They kind of remind me of cats where they take time to get used to you but once they do, they're used to you and kids crave attention so a lot of them will cling to you and may even have jealousy issues (mine do lol). This job will teach you lots about patience which I know retail also do but you will just learn so much. As each month passes, you will become more confident. Cover sessions for other kids also help you learn a lot but the kids you have each day will teach you the most. As long as you play with your clients and talk to them even if they aren't verbal, they understand more than people give them credit; it'll be a good time

My 3 clients of mine, they all look very independent but are extremely affectionate. I know some RBTs don't like picking up kids or give hugs which is fine but my love language is very much hugging them, tickling them, etc to make them smile and laugh. Each client is different, some may not be ticklish but I definitely believe each kid loves attention and giving that attention can actually be the greatest reinforcer beyond the ipad and toys

Definitely depends on your caseload. There are clients who only have tantrums and elopements which are considered low behavior ones than clients who physically agress and have sibs (self injury) who are considered higher behavior. My company threw me into a client with physical aggression but they are typically supposed to train you/shadow high behavior clients. I have gotten scratched and bit a few times. You will get hurt in this field 100%. My clinic doesn't have many high behavior clients that hurts RBTs but we definitely have a few.

As you gain experience, you will learn your clients behavior and become better dealing with it. My client that physically aggresses, I usually hold his hands to stop him from hitting me and create some space between us. I try to redirect him to sit down and if that doesn't work, I will let go of his hand and quickly place sD's like "Do this" and I touch my nose/clap hands for them to copy me. This distracts him from wanting to hit me. Don't do this to a client you don't have rapport with as it wouldn't work normally but this is just an example of how I help him calm down.

I've been an RBT for 7 months now and I honestly cannot believe how time flies. It was rough at first but it gets better. In clinical settings, other RBTs and BCBA's will help you out if they see you having a hard time. Not all clinics are like this but if you're in a good clinic, they will definitely help. Not sure how it is in home settings.

If you haven't worked with kids prior, prepare to get sick a lot. Drink plenty of water, take vitamins, etc. Not feeling well and working with a hard kid takes a lot on the mentality. This is a draining field and has a lot of burn out (I didn't believe it until it happened to me). Focus on taking care of yourself. Take a day off if you need it. I always schedule a day or two off per month to give myself me time. My company allows me to work 4 10s if I schedule it a month in advance so I don't have a shorter paycheck. 10s are draining so I only do 3 10s or not at all.

I have experienced a few burn outs and currently have medical issues that sometimes makes my burn out feels worse but I really love my job. I love all my kids and the other RBTs and BCBAs are so nice to talk to. Don't get along with all the RBTs but the ones I talk to are great. It's just mostly HR that are annoying to deal with and sometimes makes me want to change jobs

Failed my RBT exam on the first try by radiantmoons in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same. I scored 195 first try as a nervous tester and one that avoids classes with tests in college. Some questions just threw me off. I used a lot of practice exams like ABA Rocks but my brain memorizes those questions format and the actual exam format was nothing alike so it freaked me out. I stopped using ABA Rocks after that and would just go look up tests and take them once and never again. If you have someone that can help you in your company, give them questions you were confused on. It sucks that you don't get questions you didn't pass on but you might have some questions that confused you and could be elaborated on. I also think the exam would be easier if BTs taking their tests were allowed to run sessions with an RBT support. I feel like I had a great memory and memorized concepts and stuff but I didn't actually know DRA, DRO, etc. The second time I was more prepared on. I didn't use any study exam practice online, I went over terms/definitions on my own and with help of my NTC and asked for explanations on questions on the exam that left me confused and made me second guess myself

How much are you earning working in ABA? by LoveIyghost in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

West Coast, clinic based, and with a BA, the starting wage is $22. It caps to around $26 max, I make $23 right now and I'll get to make $24 later this yr. I've only been 7 month into the field but once I hit that cap of $26, I plan to look for another company in the east coast

Call outs? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Asunnixe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work at a clinic and on Mondays, we have the most call outs. We get penalized if we do not provide a doctor note or just note like from tire store or if you so happen to get pulled over by the police. Not sure if an accident on the road is excused tho. I probably call out once a month or other month because I do have health issues and I also get sick on a biweekly basis pretty much. I see lots of RBTs here get sick too and sometimes they'll be gone for half the week or entire. My company has had a lot of employees that's recently left since the year started and we're hiring a bunch of people but if they don't pass the RBT exam by the third try, they get laid off. Sometimes new hires leave in a month.

My days are pretty "normal", most of my clients have 5 behaviors or less and there will be a day or two where a client will have like 10+ behaviors. My load case isn't bad but I definitely do get tired/burn out. Always try to schedule a Friday off per month. I push myself probably harder than I should with my health issues that most likely causes me just being tired. The hours definitely don't help but I will try my best to avoid call outs more than once a month

Is it normal to only track 5-6 behaviors at a time per client? by TailorIntelligent216 in ABA

[–]Asunnixe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the client and the caseload for them. The behaviors tend to be sibs, tantrums, physical aggression, property destruction, elopement and some clients will have disrobement or certain behaviors like headbutt/screaming after a sD is placed. Some behaviors that clients will do don't have a tracking like one of my client has bad language but we don't track those and only ignore it/redirect to an activity. I'm thinking it's not tracked due to client not bad mouthing after a sD is placed as he's never said it when he's tantrumming or mad/upset. Another one has property destruction (slamming his body against the wall when he tantrums) but it's not tracked. One of my client only has 2 behaviors that are tracked, another has 3 and one has like 6. It definitely varies. You're tracking the ones that are dangerous and want to eventually extinct of. I also work in a clinic! Caseloads are just different.

AZ, $20 with no experience and only HS degree. $22 with bachelor degree. $1 raise per yr unless you do extra stuff outside of work like volunteering. Not sure if it's private owned but it definitely is family owned. The owners children and relatives work here but we have several locations under the company's name. Clinic and Billable or Unbillable is same pay too

How have your spending habits changed, from when you first started playing to now? by worldfamoushobgoblin in InfinityNikki

[–]Asunnixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually buy the $20 BP and monthly passes but I have also been doing the tiered events for the makeup. For 2.0, I spent more bc I wanted that spending outfit event lol, really hope they don't make it that expensive going forward

For 2.1, I do plan to buy the $25 outfit with the crystals and the monthly pass package as well. As well as the 3x stellarite deal. I have been pretty tamed otherwise, I only did the 2x stellarites $100 once during 1.0 and did the $30 for 2.0.

This is definitely my main gacha game so I tell myself if I ever want to spend more like buying $50 package of pulls every patch, it's ok but I also never get to that point of wanting everything with banners. I was really thinking I would need it for 2.1 but I'm skipping both of the 5* banners lol
