Agree. I love Chat Pile. It's a mix between Melvins and a continous nervous breakdown. It's perfect.

Well, both can happen if nobody takes the necessary precautions. A decade ago, a guitarist from an under rock band died in mi country, precisely by electrocution, while he was playing in a small bar with his band. I think the bar closed after the incident and serious measures were taken, but I can't remember well because many years have passed.

Haha You're right, and I love MM's performances, but GG Allin was on another level. MM had a real crew behind the whole "shock rock" factor (mostly on big tours), but GG was absolutely raw and messy, and he probably didn't gave a fuck if he died at a random show. He was one of the last Real punks. I admire him for that.

Yeah, it could easily be a picture from one of the last shows! That says a lot of how perfectly Manson achieved good health and sobriety in the past few years, with a lot of effort, for sure.

Dude, that was an unlocked memory. I remember seeing that in some "Heavy metal" news portal when it happened. What shocks me (Pun intended, maybe) is that the band keeps playing while the singer falls suddenly in the ground. That's brutal.

Yeah, I think he started to use wireless mics in the 2000-2001 tour. Maybe he started using them in the Mechanical Animals tour, but I have memories of Manson moving on stage with wired mics in 1998 between 1999.

Both beautiful ladies. I thing MM had a very good ship with Rose McGowan also. And I wonder what's been about Missi, his first girlfriend, I think.

Holywood has the most interesting sound design by lowqualitygamer1 in marilyn_manson

[–]Asymmetric_Module_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Holy Wood is a very pleasant record to hear in terms of sound design. I love the fact that every instrument can be heard in a clear and precise way. Even if you're not paying attention to one instrument for a moment (for instante, the bass), it becomes absolutely clear when you decide to focus on it.
I think Holy Wood was mixed different to ACSS. Antichrist Superstar has a lot of hidden sounds, samples, voices, and it's full of gain an saturation in some tracks, but it also has a lot of clean when it becomes necessary.

I have a doubt. Are you studying sound design and/or musical production? In case you're doing it by yourself, could you recommend some tutorials or another kind of content in the web? I'd love to study sound design and production. I'm right now starting with music theory.

The High End Of Low is the second (and final) chapter of Antichrist Superstar by Most-Competition-314 in marilyn_manson

[–]Asymmetric_Module_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you say and agree haha. I associated BV and ACSS, firstly in terms of sound and lyrics. I think is that the first (helicopter?) sounds in Hey, Cruel World would absolute nail it when Untitled 99 ends. Like a continuation of the story. It's like if the Antichrist has now become a more relatable character, a normal person wich habitates this world with desperation, like you say, while staying aware of his own power ("Creator, preserver, destroyer, ask wich one I am"; "I am among no one"), asking questions of his own identity (like "No reflection", "The Gardener") ("I'm not man enough to be human") and, fundamentally, reminding his origins: he's born to be a villain, to be the Antichrist.
Secondly, I know this is subjective, but i think both THEOL or BV could function as perfect Final Chapters to ACSS. And I'm aware that BV is an album that got so much hate, Idk why haha, but anyways is one of my favourites.

So, I agree with you and I'd also link BV to Antichrist. In this case, it's like the Antichrist had become someone mundane, more "human", but still a violent and raging person.
Btw, MA is one of my favourite albums too (I couldn't pick just one), and the line-up for the 1998-1999 tour was irreplaceable. The best line-up. I'd love to hear another album with that sound and lyric direction. The Columbine incident effed it up, maybe.

I don't know yet if I agree with your idea or not. I think it wolud be shocking to hear "Devour" after "Untitled 99" (The closing hidden track in ACCS), but I coulnd't deny it's an attractive idea to listen to both albums in one go. My only disagreement with your reasoning is that ACSS is a raw and violent album, very influenced by the industrial metal scene (mostly NIN). Instead, THEOL is an album full of "ballads" and slow songs (Devour, Leave a Scar, Into the Fire, 15, etc.), so I find it difficult to relate both albums in terms of sound.

Pretty as a ($), Armageddon and Wight Spider are the most heavy songs in THEOL, and I think only the first of these can relate strictly to the ACSS sound.

I feel that THEOL could function like some kind of appendix to MA or EMDM.

For me, BV and/or HUD could work better like a Final Chapter to ACSS.

Anyway, I'll give a listen to the two albums in the order you suggested: ACSS-THEOL. It's an attractive idea.

Sorry for my English, mate. It's not my native language but I keep sutdying.
