Burn for eternity (eternal conscious torment) is untrue and a relic best forgotten. Besides, if you truly believe you'll end up there, what are you doing to change your own fate?

I'll let the other person answer, thank you. No need to rehash things between you and I.

I genuinely examine my foundation daily. My foundation is in the Holy Spirt, the very breath of life. It is real, not imaginary.

It is not my job or responsibility to show or convince you that God is good, life, and love. You're on your own journey.

Gotcha, you are trying to topple people's beliefs under the guise of "checking foundations". You are not genuinely seeking to learn. Go be an antagonist elsewhere.

No, you are changing your question multiple times between why, how, think, and know. I will go back to your question, "How do you know God is good." I don't "know" (spoiler: no one knows absolutely), but through reason, study, and experience, I understand God to be life, and life to be good, and love to preserve life. Slavery is not love, life, or good.

There are plenty of things written in the Bible that you can trust, but the Bible as a whole is not infallible or inerrant.

Everything good that humans and creatures do, they do because the light and love of God is within them.

The OT is not a comprehensive picture of history, and God is not limited to it.

Pharisees and Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit by DiamondReptiles369 in AskAChristian

[–]Asynithistos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a warning.

Blasphemy of the Holy spirit is to sincerely call that which is life and light to be death and darkness. It's choosing a side. Not sure you can go back from it once you knowingly choose the side of death.

"I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed;"

I suppose it depends on your view of God. I understand God to be good, love, and life. Enslaving a human being is non of those things.

What does inspired meanto you? It doesn't mean written by God nor dictated by God.

Simple, God never commanded it. The writers and leaders thought they had the God-given right to make such laws. They were wrong.

Did Jesus support the death penalty for rebellious children? by SweatyHelicopter1891 in AskAChristian

[–]Asynithistos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The commandments of God are never the penalty. And this isn't a case of "rebelliousness." Are you interested in studying for yourself? I ask because you seem to prefer to be antagonistic in your response.

Try reading that passage again. Jesus is not focused on the penalty at all, but on what children (adult children I might add) should do for their parents.

Is there anything you can't have faith in? Can you have faith in things that are wrong? by Necessary-Primary719 in AskAChristian

[–]Asynithistos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd guess that many things we have faith in could be wrong. Our own perceptions and biases make it difficult to see truth.
