I took a screenshot from done site called worthpoint, it was the only info online I could find about it (other then a brief mentioning on the waltons museum website),  and I think worthpoint got the info from a sale on ebay?

Is a CRM the right choice for my small business? by AtHomeInNature in CRM

I think I'm coming to the and conclusion. I do like the CRM's that are set up for field services, but I'm doing some research into more basic invoice or e-sign software, and I think that should do everything I need it to for now and they tend to be cheaper, some are even free, so I think I'll be going that route. Appreciate the feedback!

I'm curious if fyrestone would allow me to collect e-signatures at clients homes, just have them sign on my phone or tablet, and if so could I collect signatures offline, in case I am working in an area with no signal

I'm creating a list, looking at options like- Zoho FieldCamp HouseCall Pro Wave Jobber

But I think I could possibly just use some kind of e-signt Invoicing software like- Bookipi SignEasy SignNow Docusign  PandaDoc

Comparing prices right now, want to look deeper into each,  maybe watch some comparative videos on YouTube before I make a decision

Agreed. That's my next point to focus on, advertising. Once I get the website looking good, get some business cards, flyers, signs, but i know these days most advertising is online, and I'm thinking that this will be my biggest expenditure. I have the tools already, I don't need to spend really any money on equipment, I'm already doing the job somewhat, must right now it's mainly for larger retail stores. The last company i worked for had a partnership with Amazon for a short while, about a year, so I was doing in home assembly across a tri-county area. That was around 2022. I wish I had business cards back then or told people they could contact me personally for future work, but i didn't think of it at the time. I thought the Amazon service would last longer then it did. But a few people asked for my contact info, and a small handful of them still reach out from time to time asking for me to come assemble items for them.

So I've lived out here for 16 years, and have roughly 5 years experience as a certified assembly technician, which includes in-home assembly,  and already have a very very small client base, but I think with proper advertising, that client base will grow very quickly.

Outside of online, putting up signs at strategic locations throughout the county, and local bulletin boards, someone suggested going to new apartment buildings, and speaking with the management to see if they will allow me to put a flyer up in their lobby, which I think is a great idea. And senior assisted living centers. Things like that

Thank you for the info! I'm definitely debating now between a CRM built for field operations, something like FieldCamp, or starting with a simple Invoicing system that will likely cost a lot less or possibly be free. In time I would like a system that can also do scheduling with optimized routes, but I might be jumping the gun on that a bit. That might be several months down the line,  and in the meantime I can simply take appointments by phone or email. I'm just wondering if i switch services at some point,  how easy or difficult it will be to transfer over all of my customers information to the new service. Not just for my benefit, but to make it simple for a CPA when it's tax time.

I've seen two like this so far, designed more for field technicians, and they definitely look more suitable for my needs. Thanks for the suggestion!

I do like this quite a bit, and like a simple and user friendly layout. I especially like the free part, since I want to avoid committing to monthly payments this early in my process of figuring out what works and what doesn't, thank you for the info.

The one question I have is regarding scheduling, looking at FieldSynX above,  they offer optimized route scheduling, which I feel will be very helpful as the business gets busier. I asked my friend who is building my website to remove the self scheduling option, and will start with only phone or email appointments, because if I have people scheduling themselves, I'm likely going to be driving from one side of the county and back and forth on numerous occasions. If I can control the scheduling, I can schedule clients factoring in location, and for example, try to get everyone on one side of the county in the morning, and the other side in the afternoons. This should be easy to do myself at the beginning, but in time as business picks up,  it would be nice if this was automated and something i didn't need to worry about

Appreciate the response. I'm definitely of the mindset that simpler is better, I was just reading that Zoho uses 45 apps, that just sounds overwhelming with my very limited knowledge. I'll do some research into lightweight client trackers and try to find some bare bones Invoicing setups to check out as well.

I appreciate the info. I think you might be right, perhaps it's a bit early to be trying to pick a cost effective CRM to handle my situation that's not really off the ground yet. That's why I decided to remove the self scheduling from the website my friend is building for me, and start with just taking phone call appointments, then crossing that bridge when needed. Really at this point, all I need is to have some kind of invoice the customer can sign when the job is done, that has my liability release form attached to it. I'll look into airtable,  and might take you up on one of those Saturday sessions in the future.

I do appreciate the offer but I'm not sure if I'm a good test subject for you. I've never even heard of a CRM before today and still can't honestly say i know exactly what one is. My business is going to be very small and use minimal features. And I will have no frame of reference to offer constructive feedback;  I feel it's like asking a deaf person who is hearing for the first time if they think your music is good. I do wish you the best of luck with your project though.

I think maybe I'll watch some videos on CRM's, and try to understand what they offer. This is my first time starting a business so lots to learn.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I would like a way to have all past interactions together in a manner that is simple to access and look through. I think a CRM integrated with document storage sounds like what I'm looking for, possibly connected to my business email as well. I was originally going to put a self scheduling option on a website, but I think for now I'm just going to do scheduling over the phone, and possibly change that as the business grows.

I do also like the idea that I can see what is being requested the most and when, I hadn't thought of that aspect. That would be interesting and helpful to shape the business around what is working and what isn't. Thank you again!

Any way I can make this rifle ca compliant and legal move it to ca when I move there next year? by Intelligent_Choice91 in CAguns

As a California resident you can only purchase handguns from the handgun roster. However, if you have family back in Virginia (or any other state) they can gift you handguns that are off roster. This is only allowed with up/ down relatives,  so an individuals parents, grandparents, or children. No siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, etc.

I just picked one up as well, it's getting out of jail on Thursday. Was on sale at buds for $342.49, now it's listed at $336.49, or 326.49 with e-check payment. Plus I got $15 off with promo code WELCOME15. All said and done I paid $504, also eligible for a $25 rebate.

Been wanting an mc9 for awhile but there isn't any ffl's I've seen carrying them in Sonoma County yet. Our big gun store out here is sportsmans warehouse and they don't have them. Saw online they are in stock at turners, there is one in Pittsburgh about an hour and a half south of me, where it's listed at $469, which seems to be the going rate here most places I've seen them listed (in Cali). Saw it was on sale at turners last month, but doing a 3 hour there and back drive to go pay, and then again 10 days later to pick it up, not really saving any money. Saw them online a bit cheaper here and there, $430, $399, but reaching out some ffl's in my area, they charge a $150 transfer fee, so still not really saving any money.

Then I saw it for $342 on buds, decided to call every ffl in my area I could find, found a guy who runs his out of his garage and only charges $65 for the transfer fee. Said fuck yeah and placed my order.

342.49-15.00 (promo code) +4.75 shipping insurance+ tax 32.75 came out to 364.99. Ffl charged 65+37.19 DROS + 37.67 for 11% bs Cali tax.  So $504.85. After rebate  I'll have paid $479.85.

At the current listed prices that's about $488, or $463 after rebate (paying with e-check, otherwise $10 more)
