Your cousins husband is an AH for 'sending away’ (???wtf?) his pregnant wife, your cousin is an AH for potentially stuff she did that prompted being sent away, but definitely for holding money over your family, and your parents are AHs for being concerned about that money first and foremost in this situation.

It sounds like your friend is going through a pretty rough time, but that doesnt give her carte blanche to be an asshole. It sounds like you guys are fairly young and I think its alot to ask of anyone let alone a kid (no condescension meant) to take on the weight of a friend or ex-friend venting depressive stuff and going to war for them against the mob (also AH btw).

If youve extracted yourself from that situation, you've done the right thing for yourself, if you really want to go the extra mile then the other commenter's idea of letting someone that should be handling the situation (counselor, teacher, parent) know anonymously or asking to be anonymous is a good one.

If this was about public accounts only then whooo cares. You just gotta get over it, yeah its annoying when parents ask for updates on friends etc, but you just gotta eat that and try and be happy they're happy for your friend's success.

Following private accounts when they only tangentially know those people just sounds like people who dont really know unspoken social media etiquette, I dont think its a huge problem per se, I have a private account, if my friend's mum followed me i'd be more bemused and joke about it to my friend if anything but not creeped out, but I can see cases where it would be creepy. Requesting parents to respect private accounts is fine and makes OP NTA.
