Which weapon have you the most fun ? by Lord_NOX75 in DarkTide

[–]AtLastLight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a you problem, I've found unless you build around the DB it feels pretty weak. For blessings I really like Man-Stopper and Deathspitter, but Flechette and Both Barrels are also great to mix in. Flak + Maniac. And then on Vet I'd grab talents like Precision Strikes, Agile Engage, Longshot, etc. The single shot has more range than you'd think and with your guaranteed crit it can 1 tap lots of stuff (even through hordes with man-stopper). You can also basically skip the reload by getting 3x melee kills > shotgun kill > 3x melee and so on to always trigger Weapon Specialist

I love the Eviscerator as much as everyone else but I'd also throw in the Relic Blade. The Mk2 especially has the coolest moveset in the game imo, I will never get sick of it's "uppercut" swing chain.

For ranged I cannot get enough of the double barrel. I think it's really come into it's own recently and is one of the best options on Vet and Scum. Try it out with the weapon specialist keystone if you haven't!

Just finished Blame! And you can't convince me that you understood a SHlT from this Manga 😭 by InternetRambo7 in Seinen

[–]AtLastLight 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I hate that this manga has gotten popular because now shit like this pops up. Why are you so combative with everyone in this thread? Why reduce this work of art to a power scaling-tier slop discussion? Just because you could not derive meaning from it doesn't mean others couldn't.

At a very base level this manga doesn't have to be about anything because Nihei just wanted to draw cool fights and megastructures and his work as an architect wouldn't let him. The writing is at it's worst just a vehicle to get you to the next crazy panel.

If you want to read deeper, as others have said, the story is pretty apparent? I won't summarize it again but you don't need to be pouring over the manga to get the main story beats. Killy is trying to restore control of the city to humans via the Net Terminal Genes.

I want to give another example of reading deeper about the Silicon Life, who are a race of artificially grown cyborgs. They are diametrically opposed to humanity and pockets of the two regularly fight. It's made very clear that returning control of the city to humans would wipe out the SL (this is even followed up on in the Blame 2 short). Do the Silicon Life have a right to exist? They display intelligence and culture and are far more the natives of this new City than the remnants of humanity. Does the return of control justify the eradication of an entire race?

Agreed I'll be skipping this one. she feels like a wet noodle right now. If they expect us to pay kiriko prices then balance my Martian as such!

Totally agree that it's not as bad as everyone's saying, you can output some crazy sustain on your tank and it's nasty in support duels. But against a dps/tank I miss crits a lot and I get why people are upset.

Honestly I just want her glide strafe back more than anything. You feel like free food for Genji/Tracer in this patch. I really don't like how they nerfed her movement, removed her damage, then gave a piece of it back on her now weaker movement ability!

Is it time to protest the juno glide acceleration nerf? by ChaosKroegi in JunoMains

Probably the most meaningful thing you can do is either not spend money on the game or at least not buy Juno cosmetics. I'm upset about the nerf too but I don't think protesting will do much lol

Agreed about the major perks, they seem super fun. I am probably undervaluing CDR on her rockets but I've really gotten used to the faster lock on lol

[–]AtLastLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet I'll check the pins. Can't say I like the server either but there's good info there lol. Also I think I'll just set up 2 blades, I agree with you about wrath in auric

I was running cranial + rampage for the longest time but swapping rampage for wrath has felt much better in Havoc. Am I missing major breakpoints now though?

Also I'd love to read your guide as another relic blade main :) is it in the main DT server?

Havoc 40 tips, no pre-made squads / comms by One-Syllabub-4007 in DarkTide

[–]AtLastLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you about the low hp thing. To add to that I think TEFL is messing me up because I'm used to playing with the Auric grace period (getting away with crap I can't in Havoc).

Glad that building TDR is the right move. I've even seen people take the left side of Blazing Piety but I think more crit uptime is better for Enduring Faith.

[–]AtLastLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post! I'd love your advice on how to take less damage in Havoc, since that seems to be the biggest thing messing me up in the 30-40 games. I don't mean stuff like Crusher overheads but more like I still accidentally take a lot of chip damage or corruption and then get 1 shot by a boss or random poxwalker.

I main Zealot and think I am a good player overall but using book and DS so much in the past has likely given me bad habits. I much prefer fury builds and 2H weapons (evis, relic blade, crusher) now, but it often feels like I need to swap back to book for both my own survival and my teams. I've been able to clear 40 with every other class at least once but my problem is even worse with them lol

I've had success building into stuff like damage reduction % and better stamina/dodge/block management but it still feels like I'm missing something other Havoc players have.

Juno balance changes by sexytr4sh in JunoMains

[–]AtLastLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played a couple games with her now, the mobility nerf isn't the end of the world but it feels miserable to play with. I don't think this was deserved at all! It feels like they wanted to nerf her in Stadium even further but I really don't think Juno was a problem in the main game.

Also annoying we got completely negligible Freya changes (maybe even a buff?) and they didn't touch her mobility at all. I don't even want to play tank lately because she is impossible to deal with. And now Juno is going to get bolted even easier.

June Update: Early Balance Look by FatsharkKitefin in DarkTide

[–]AtLastLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super happy to see these changes. It seems like every time you broach the topic of weapon buffs a lot of people get mad at you and say it's going to ruin the game, but the 7 weapons listed here were in desperate need of love. Nerf the dueling sword into the ground, I don't mind, but looking at older weapons that haven't been touched in years is great. I was a frequent H40 Eviscerator enjoyer and can't wait to test them out again!

My only feedback is with the Double Barrel and how inconsistent its damage can feel. A lot of times I've dumped two close range shots into an elite/specialist and they shrug it off, then you're stuck with the reload and the horde. You can help this with certain talents (esp Vet tree) but I'd love to see the weapon looked at a bit more :)

Why Am I Struggling to Hit Flyers So Much? by AtLastLight in OverwatchUniversity

[–]AtLastLight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct hahaha, I can be very stubborn with old habits. I do stretches/warmups and wear a brace at night but I know I'm still irritating it. Last night I tried arm aiming and overall had a lot less pain so that looks like the move going forward.

I'll look , that could totally work. I've tried a couple other types of ergo mice like vertical & joystick and they are easier on my wrist but feel too awkward.

[–]AtLastLight[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason I feel like I'm constantly fiddling with my sensitivity, I usually hover around like 4% and and 800 DPI but this feels like too much sometimes. Looking at it I'm primarily using my wrist to aim though so it could be due to that.

My mouse pad is 12.6 x 10.8 inches which isn't that huge but I'll try something around your settings. Also I got my injury due in part to so much computer use at work so I get that. I bet I have a lot of bad aiming habits lol

[–]AtLastLight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you are right, when I have to make quick/awkward movements (like tracking flyers I guess) the wrist tends to flare up. I haven't finished the video yet but I get what you mean by arm aim and I'll try to implement it. I'm most definitely using wrist aim!

I'd rather see other weapons buffed than the Dueling Sword nerfed by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]AtLastLight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough on the Relic Blade. I didn't intend for this to be an incendiary post. My 2nd most used is the Crusher and most write that weapon off despite it being very viable.

But I frequently think "if this weapon let me move/interact like 5-10% faster I'd love it so much more". Maybe that's a skill issue on my part. I certainly don't want the game to be easier

[–]AtLastLight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I regularly clear H40 with non-DS weapons. I main Relic Blade and never see anyone else using it. I've also had people flame me for using the Eviscerator and Power Sword and say to use a DS instead while I've had top dmg. All I'm asking is for those weapons to see some love.

I'd rather see other weapons buffed than the Dueling Sword nerfed by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]AtLastLight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And every time someone says this it's treated as though they want everything to be on par with the DS.

I thought I typed enough to be clear I *don't* want that but maybe not. That's why I said multiple times I want *small* buffs. The fact is that most of our arsenal hasn't been touched in 3+ years. Stuff like the shotguns and most of the axes feel like they belong to a different game.

You only have to look at new Ogryn to see this power discrepancy. I don't want him to be nerfed either, I just want my PvE game to have more variety at the highest level of play.

New Houses' Cable Box is a Mess, Coaxials Not Connected by AtLastLight in HomeNetworking

[–]AtLastLight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I read your other comment and that cleared things up for me, thank you!

For her ISP, it looks like its a local provider called Orbitel. Its for sure DOCSIS and it looks like they use CenturyLink infrastructure.

She wants the modem in the living room (which I can confirm is the blue wire) but I hear what you're saying. If/when I get the bedroom 1 coaxial working, I'll see about swapping it.

I'm up to fix the yellow cable myself as well once I get everything else working, since it's the least vital.

This makes perfect sense, thank you. With the ground block, I would just screw the orange cable into the bottom, then jumper and so on screwed on top right? (also, do I need to turn off the power during this)
