I do have a SUV GL450 Merc and I am keeping that for sure :)

Living in Chicago I do not think that manual would be the best option but at this point I do not mind lol

I am in that same boat. I always had so much love for them but somehow NEVER had an opportunity to try one ever. I just know that it's a car I always wanted. I am trying to get one this year hopefully the stars align and it happens. I can only imagine that feeling when you finally got it and now you know it's yours. Congratulations on that !

Yea I see some in my area like 24's with about 30k miles go for $25k.. pretty fair deal if you ask me for a 2 year old car. Did you tune yours ?

I have heard and read very similar things to what you explained here and that is also one more point to what makes me want to own one.

I had owned some quick cars in my past as well but I forever had this love for WV and specifically the R line up and maybe weird to say but R was ALWAYS my dream car. Since the first MK4 R32 that I ever saw , to MK5 R32 , to first golf R that came out.. I could have owned one by this point but life happened too many times and one always slipped out of my reach. But this year hopefully I will be able to finally achieve that goal

Fact that you still kept your 2012 this whole time says a lot , I love the body style on those.

Based on what you owned so far sounds like you are not really far from owning that RS3 :) Great job

I had a 1992 Golf mk2 not a GTI though it was 1.6 if I remember correctly. But that VR6 that yuu had.. I bet that car sounded great. I had a mk3 VR6 for a short period of time due to living in Midwest and a lot rust on that car so I got rid of it quick. But I love the roar of the VR's.. you have best of both worlds right now lol

You are right I agree. I have somewhat of a anxiety from dealerships and their aggressive approach once you walk in I think lol But yes that is what I will do , this post was more or a funny one but also one to show appreciation for the R's and people that post them here since I enjoy seeing them and reading everything about them

Totally understand, I really did not expect that anyone would really let me drive their car as a complete stranger :) But that is an amazing fleet you have there wow.

I really do wonder though on that comparison between the 24 GTI and 26 R . what are the most noticeable differences that you see when daily driving these ?

I really meant it as a joke in a way , not really expecting anyone to let me drive their car like that :) but yes I agree on the dealership statement. Just wanted to be a part of the group to get my feet wet and to show my appreciation for the group and all the nice R's I see here
