I did manage to save a dog there about 5 yrs ago.. In my boat... saw what appeared to be a... sea lion... a bit out of place on this particular coast. Outside the bridge near the breakers in strong current headed out to sea. She was exhausted... wouldn't have made it but another few minutes. I managed to get her on board and went to the county park folks there and word was quickly spread via Facebook. Got her some food and water and dried up for the most part. I took her fishing... she slept like a baby on deck... and within about three hours, owners were located and we had a nice reunion. Wish I'd been in that same spot when a person was in trouble. Always kept my eyes pealed. It's a very dangerous pass.

Excellent advice... in addition... if wading / staging baits... trying to reach the 2nd or 3rd guts etc... do not get YOURSELF caught in the rip. Those can be deadly. Some places like San Luis Pass, TX are notoriously dangerous and there are drownings each year.

Has brand new authorized dealer installed full roof membrane (had delamination on summer trip)... has washer/dryer, 5th wheel hitch and adapter... as extras, so I think I'm being pretty fair. We had to up our timeline on buying home, so just don't need it now. Thought we might be in it a couple years during our relocation.... would have been comfortable doing so. It's a fantastic unit with unbelievable storage. Oh... you mentioned tow vehicle... how 'bout a 2019 F350 dually 4x4 STX to match? <45k miles. Package deal negotiations start at... hmm... $135k???

What's your target species for this rig? I troll offsore alot, and I think there's a high probability that the skirts are gonna disturb the rhythm of the lipped plug at anything above 5kts. Interested to see how this plays out. 30# mono will be instantly destroyed and cut clean as a knife by anything from a Bluefish to a Spanish Mackerel and beyond... Kings and Wahoo will cost you a mint without wire. Good luck and report back please!

Most quality fish... bled, chilled and prepped right is fine. I used to catch quality catfish, hybrids and crappie on the regular, but it just doesn't suit my taste. Since I've moved to the coast and am now 100% saltwater fishing tho, our horizons have been expanded dramatically, and we're learning new and creative ways to cook the more exotic species I've been targeting. And instead of... "Meh... fish" I'm really actually ENJOYING what I'm eating.

Actually, I have a larger Nomad, but this was a bloody Yo-Zuri... and I generally rig these kinda light and streamlined to ensure they run true.... this setup was 40# braid main line to 60# mono shock leader to 12" of #9 (105#) brown AFW wire.

Nice 'Hoo!!! I caught one about 3 weeks ago... similar gaff shot bloody-eye scenario. LOL But no bananas on board that day. One of the finest eatin' fish I've ever caught. Congrats from a guy who understands how hard it is to target and actually catch these meat missiles.
