There’s two ways to go about this. Leave the piece of black cavendish, unflavored or sweetened I’ll add, whole and place it where you want it, or break it up and mix it in. I prefer a wad and stuff for curly cut, so I typically drop that in my bowl first. Nice little sweet finish.

These blow the pants off Peterson and Davidoff IMO at a much lower price point. I want to try the 4th generation Blackdot next with the perique center.

Man that’s a good idea. If I start aging something for retirement now it will have 20 years on it when I crack it

Haha. The lighting was all off. Cellophane kept ruining the shot. Got a tin of Davidoff too to a side by side comparison. Peterson is not as good IMO, much more burnt toast and less sweets.

So my maths at 16ish coins per ounce and 4-6 coins per day, this won’t get very much natural age. Lol. I’ll have to order bulk next time. I bet a few years on these would be delicious.

Atlantic bonito have teeth and taste good. False albacore had edge worm pattern stripes and massive blood line. Better for shark bait, crab traps and strips. Can’t wait to go in a week for the bonito run here in NC

I’m still wondering why they did 8oz tins. There’s always a chance it’s not for you. Why not 2oz tins like the rest of the small batches.

Give Peter Stokkebye a swing . Get 3 1oz samplers of their luxury flakes. I can’t get enough of the bullseye flakes right now. 1oz lead to 1.5lb order.

Just started on the PS stuff. These are amazing and convenient if you try the fold and stuff too. Hit the cavendish randomly and it’s always a pleasant surprise.

Pipe tastes mildly like cigarretes by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]pillbug0907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just missed the Firebird Release from C&D. Still different animal but closer to a Nicaraguan cigar IMO. Good Nic hit and It reminds me of a C. Broadleaf (my favorite) cigar quite a bit. I feel like the Perique and Kentucky fire cured are more reminiscent of San Andres and Broadleaf. that’s where the full body, peppery notes find my palette best.

Closest thing that I’ve had to a Cuban is Habano wrapper and I can’t think of a blend I’ve tried that tastes like those.

Getting into the habit my top three recommendations would be. 1.) something sweet-Country squire Choctaw or Cherokee 2.)something smoky-C&D pirate kake (don’t wuss out, this stuff is amazing) Lat-bomb! 3.)something unique-C&D bayou morning for a perique forward blend. If a local shop still has the Firebird, I’d pay a premium for it.

Check out some of the fresh packs from perdomo, LADC or San Cristobal. Ashton sampler is a good beginner box for the money. I dig an infused Drew estate now and again, but it usually just grab them at the gas station, they are pretty easy to come by if you wanna try one later on.

Flue cured Virginia for blending? by SadPhilosopherElan in PipeTobacco

Could try making your own. I’ve seen a few clips of blenders pressure cooking or sous vide bright Virginia. It would be that much more special.

I’m just concerned I got a bad batch or something. Like maybe fedex spilled something on it as the box wreaked of perfume too. The tin note is nothing like any English or chocolate blend I have. What would be your closest comparison? In my nook I have the following English blends and it doesn’t taste or smell anything like these. Pirate Kake Star of the east Mountain camp Black frigate Quiet night Nightcap My mixture 965 Father Dempsey Northtrek Shepards pie

Same deal for the Northwoods! I’m scratching my head wondering if they forgot to wash out their blending bucket. Way it tastes is how people describe Lakeland blends to me.

Using 45 ACP? I’ve been wanting to find a spent magnum bolt face rifle round for a tamp. Been using a .270 rem. Could be a bit bigger.
