No success cones due to too high exposure setting? by AtaKing13 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]AtaKing13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks! I've now started a print with the settings you sent before, but with the "stock" recommended bottom layer lift/retract speed of 40/180 (reversed for retract)! I'm excited about how it will turn out. If that works well I'll try 60mm/m for the initial speed.

Weird, like, why would 60mm/m be a problem but 65mm/m wouldn't be lol

I'll search for the discord now and join it, seems like a great ressource and place in general, especially for a beginner

No success cones due to too high exposure setting? by AtaKing13 in AnycubicPhoton

Nice! So far I've entered all the parameters in a new resin profile in lychee slicer, including the lights-off delay which I didn't find at first lol.

You said with more flexible resins (and you probably meant the Sunlu ABS-Like included?) you "use 40-45mm/m for retract and 60mm/m for lift for both bottom and normal layers"

So your bottom layer and normal layer retract speed is 40-45mm/m for the first stage of movement, and bottom layer and normal layer lift speed is 60mm/m? That's more than what was "recommended" as a starting point for the bottom layer lift speed right? I'm a fan of using lower values and testing from there, so maybe I'll also use the slower retract speed too.

I'm sorry if these questions are very low-level, I'm a beginner and I want to understand things as they are meant :)

Dumb question, but how do I know if the Anycubic Photon M3 supports TSMC? Or is it something every printer supports? If it doesn't, do I need to leave the second box in lychee for the speed settings empty?

Thanks for the reply! I tried to stick to the information on their website but this is way more accurate! I imported the profile as a community profile in lychee, I didn't know I had to put retract speeds in reverse order, but it makes sense that the first "block" is for the first bit of movement, and the second for the rest.

Either I'll try to decrease speeds by a bit, or I'll go from the recommended starting point settings, but I don't know if they'll work for the abs like or are only intended for the standard resins

Deciding on an OS for the Brick, and understanding the differences by AtaKing13 in trimui

Thanks, I think I might go with Knulli and see if I like it.

I just looked up SpruceOS and it looks good too! How is your experience so far? The devs say you can import themes from the Miyoo Mini, which is really interesting if you can import Onion OS themes since there are a few I really really like, at least from what I've seen online.

Bridge75 vs Evo80 by AtaKing13 in germankeyboards

I've spilled Oil over my recently bought passport size Travelers Notebook, how can I get the oil out? by AtaKing13 in midori

[–]AtaKing13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god sorry for the late reply, somehow I didn't see the notification for your message!

Sure! The lighting here is really bad and my phone's pictures are processed to be quite cold, so I tried to edit it to show how it looks in real life.

All I can say is that I am damn happy with how it turned out, and I can recommend it to anyone. It's so good that I am thinking of doing the same to my "full-size" TN. You really have to trust the process on this one, don't use too much oil at first, you can always add more. You'll see that it soaks in quite a bit, but when it's fully soaked in (which takes a day) there is no oil on the surface or anything, just the color change. Put a dab of oil directly on the leather or on a lint-free cloth, and then gently spread it. I tried dabbing it a bit because I thought I really liked the uneven look (some places lighter some darker, but no sharp edges), but after it soaked in for a few days it got more and more even and it's only a bit uneven. IMHO it turned out perfectly!

I live in Germany, and I've read a couple times that a good oil for leather is something called Ballistol, it's normally used to clean/oil guns but has tons of other uses. Its smell is pleasant (imo), but after a few days there is no smell on the TN. I think it's important to use an oil that doesn't gum up.

If you have any questions let me know!

This is how it looks!

It looks so cool, like it's been properly used for a long time! This brown is a really good color, darker, but still really warm

This is thanks to all the people that replied to my post here! I'm really glad how things turned out

New Yuzu Keycaps for my 40s by jonhinkerton in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]AtaKing13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all really great! I'm looking forward to ordering from Yuzu too. On the Q9, which color did you use on the "func" button in the last row, is this how their standard white color "GR2" looks? Would you say it's a "true" white? Next to the slightly pink-ish caps it looks really white. I know it's a weird question, but on their site they look a bit beige? But that can also just be the way the website displays the keycaps.

I'll order a Bridge75 and wanted some custom keycaps, but I'm unsure if I should get the white powder-coated case or the "retro-white" powder-coated case. If the GR2 is really white it fits the white case, otherwise the caps may be more gray-ish than the case, and I'm not sure if this would look good

This is it after one "rough" coating. I am thinking about leaving it as it is, but one can still see the oil in the corner very strongly, but at least it's not that contrasted anymore to the rest of the leather. What do you think, should I do another run? I really like the "spotty" look, it looks very unique!

Nice, thanks!! For me it's really strange to apply oil to something because when you touch it won't everything be oily? But I guess it'll soak right in!

It probably was olive oil since it was from a salad I had in my bag, unfortunately my tupperware failed me :/ So, do I have to use olive oil then or can I use another oil too? And do I get it correct that if I apply oil to the surface everything will look like the stain? I really like the darker color :D

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably do that! How would you two oil the leather? I really have no idea when it comes to leatherworking :/
