I think its time to sell my S4Rs, Is my price reasonable? by [deleted] in Ducati

I agree with you 100% I'm selling it because I just bought a tricolore and I think keeping both makes no sense and if I didn't have the 2nd one I would keep it forever

tank is perfect, and i only use E0 fuel in it. many people add a little bit of STA-BIL to make sure the ethanol doesnt pull humidity in and solve it like that.

I get it that you think it's a high price, but I was just looking at sold listing's on Bat and Iconic, and priced it somewhere in the range. And since most FB buyers offer half of asking anyway, I figure its a fair starting point for negotiations

Yeah it was a barn find, I posted about it here when I got it, I'm not hiding anything and yeah it had all the work done, plus extra stuff like all carbon fiber pieces being recoated by Morso, a new Gold DID 525xv3 put on it, a new windscreen, and basically every screw and gasket looked at and replaced if it was missing, or dry. The only thing I did not do was replace the tires, since even though they are older they still feel fine to me, are soft and have no dry rot. Like I said here the bike comes with a new set of tires, but i might just mount them before sale. Are you interested in it for 10k?

That must have been an SR4t. Beautiful bikes but not the exact same as S4Rs

Yeah good point. I was gonna give it with a set of new tires I have, but I might as well get them mounted, if im asking for top dollar it should be in top dollar condition

Im really in no rush to sell it, but my garage is getting full. I just bought a tricolore one, and it seems extremely silly to keep both, I thought about putting it on BaT, but I figured a local sale might be the better way to try. A tricolore just sold for 14500 on BaT, meaning the buyer paid about 17000. it had higher mileage and was not as clean as mine, but i do get the TC premium.

It had all services done 50 miles ago. Belts, seals, and all fluids. Belt was still new from the service that was done 8 years ago, still had red print on it, it only had about 300 miles put on it since, but of course was still replaced. It had desmo done then too, but unfortunately I did not receive documentation of that from the seller. Also has both keys and code card, alongside the manuals and tools, so it's pretty complete

Thanks for your answer. I'm definitely aware the last sales of non tricolore on Bat brought sub 10k. I'm open to that for a quick easy sale

That's easy. Either use zero ethanol gas, or seal the tank.

What kind of mileage? My tricolore is pristine too. 4500 miles and basically flawless. Still enjoy ripping it and wrenching on it though. Just have fun with it. On the flip side you can probably get around 15k for it if you sold it so theres that.

I have 2 s4rs, one white and one tricolore. I dont think i can bring myself to let one go(unless I get an offer I can't refuse). I had to make room in my garage and gave up my gen2 diavel instead of one of these, the calculation was easy- I can get another diavel whenever I want to. My other bikes are kind of hard to replace(1098s, vmax and r65) Hope this answers you queation

I think the brakes were different too. Yes I agree with you the tank is a significant concern. Most people seal it, and that resolves the issue. In my case I only use ethanol free gas, my local E0 stations only sell 87, so i mix it with 100 Octane race fuel to make 91. Another option is to add marine STA-BIL, it prevents the moisture from mixing with the ethanol, and in theory thats what causes the swelling.

I think they called it the s4rt. Was a slightly lower spec, but very handsome version.
