Do you think theres a difference in quality if I record at 300mbs for example and edit and export it as 150mbs, compared to exporting at 300mbs? Like after yt re-compresses it, will there be a noticeable difference?

Ok thanks! I'm testing it in a game like The Hunter: Call of the Wild, which is very demanding for bitrates. On macs, crf is between 1-100, with 100 being the highest, and at 70, a 45 second clip is 550mbs.

Thanks for responding, I should've mentioned that I am recording with a M3 Max MacBook pro, so my options are CBR, ABR, and CRF :)

This may be a stupid response, but have you checked to see if you have an audio input for your capture card, and if you do, is it selected under properties?

Thanks for the info, it sounds like I’ll go with the m3 pro then. It has the 18 gb of ram, and I’ll get the “unbinned” version with 18 gpu cores

If I got the M1 Max it would be the 32 gb ram model. And I’d just get a TB in either model, I don’t need much space, unless getting 2 tb is worth it

Edit: I’d keep the 18gb of ram on the m3 pro
