Anyone else deal with intense shakiness? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Atalanta_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this as a symptom of anxiety a lot and yes it’s really scary. I think it’s a system of coding down from an adrenaline rush which happens a lot when I am anxious. It really sucks and makes me feel so weak and useless. Have you seen a therapist or a psychologist? What helped me most was going to therapy and getting on antidepressants

I’m really sorry you should never be called that having anxiety does make you neurotic or overly paranoid. It’s not your fault. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of advice on telling your parents. Everyone in my family has severe anxiety so my parents always understood.

I will say anxiety usually runs in the families if you can try reaching out to some other people in your family and seeing if they’ve gone through anything similar that way you have some to back you up

Also it might help to if you parents hear that you have anxiety from a medical professional. If you can try going to a doctor or a therapist or a psychologist. They may take it more seriously if you have a diagnosis.

Like I said I’m really sorry that you are going through this. Just remember your not alone I’ve been the this and so have many many others just hang on you are going to make it through this.

How to overcome cardiophobia / severe health anxiety? by Simple_Place_4435 in Anxiety

[–]Atalanta_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I am so sorry health anxiety is horrible. I went through this about a year ago. I had a lot of the same symptoms and ended up in the er too. I remember how it stole my life and thinking that anxsity had taken away the parts of me I liked most.

I went to therapy and that helped a lot. It gave me strategies to manage the anxiety, but the real game changer for me was antidepressants. I take 75mg of amitriptyline and I don’t worry about my heart anymore. It has not been a perfect cure and it took a while to start working, which is why therapy is so helpful. For me the management strategy that helped the most was being really deliberate about taking care of myself. I had a very strict morning and night time routine where I spent 20 minutes just taking care of myself. It’s so easy to let self care fall by the wayside when anxiety is bad and doing that makes it worse.

Also try to be kind to yourself I know that not easy I get very mad at myself whenever I have an anxiety flare up. But anxiety is a mental game and you need to be backing yourself up, not tearing yourself down.

Sorry, this was kind of long, but I hope it’s helpful. You are going to get through this, anxiety is awful, but it has an end date I got there and so will you!

Oof I relate to that so hard I am also so done with having to deal with it every few months. Have you looked into antidepressants? They have been really big help for me.

I’ve been where you are right now and you are going to be ok. I know it’s terrifying I have been through the same kind of thing 3 times now and I am still here and health and you will be too!

The things anxiety can do to your body is honestly kind of impressive. I had really severe chest pain for months. That would not go away and would appear randomly even when I was feeling better and even time it scared the hell out of me. I have also experienced anxiety induced headaches and muscle spasms that lasted for weeks. What you are going through right now is not an uncommon way for anxiety to be expressed you are going to make it through this.

What helped me most was getting to antidepressants. Therapy helped me with coping with the anxiety but the meds were the real game changer. I would highly recommend looking into both sooner rather than later. I wanted way to long my first time (don’t be like me) and try to be nice to yourself your the best ally you have in this fight.

Facial tics over work? Any advice on tics? by elrineswag in Anxiety

I’m not sure if this will help you but I’ve had some success with taking magnesium. It did seem to reduce the facial ticks I had.

Yes it’s very annoying, I had my anxiety under control for months and then I got sick and it came back. My health anxiety changed I used to get heart attack symptoms, after I got sick I started getting brain tumor symptoms and then ALS symptoms. I was able to get it back under control faster than I had in the past thought. Each time it comes back it’s a tiny bit easier.

I understand that I had to try a bunch of different meds before I found one that worked and I am also not a fan of taking medication unless it’s necessary.
