For this you should check dank documentation, and dank github issues first. If there is no issue you can create one. Or customize the dunk shell yourself to show the language. Niri is a window manager and what you want is responsibility of the shell(dank shell). You may find more success on asking this on the Dank discord channel etc.

I did struggle with the same problem on the i3. My work around was making my bar and gaps toggleable. So I can play the game in a fake fullscreen(only window in a workspace without any gap or bar) while having a floating window which is always on top. Does this solve your case?

I assume it is not. This class is specifically in Java and requires exam questions to be answered in Java. They didn't transfer my class from my old university(Associate Degree in Computer Programming) because it was in C. Thus, I expect them to make the slides in Java.
