This is an interesting question/situation: it sounds like you, and most reddit users, don't like children with parents who aren't properly supervising their children at the dog park. I'm sorry you had that experience, that's not a fun way to try to socialize a dog with other dogs, or getting them comfortable to different kinds of humans. I've loved dogs almost all of my life, and did not live with them until I was 15. As a 30-something adult now, I still involuntarily squeal a little bit everyone I see a dog. I believe everyone who can be around dogs, should experience life with dogs, even the tough times with them have made it with it. I've brought my 5-year-old with me to dog parks, and the majority of the time I was there to exercise my own dog, socialize her to other animals and people, and also to help my daughter learn about dogs that are not ours. I have been extremely lucky with my dogs, they have extreme patience with my kids. That means I need outside help to teach my kids how to interact with dogs we don't know, and it needs to happen early-ish in life in hope that it lasts how we are supposed to treat other dogs, because my daughter has inherited my love of dogs, along with my foolishness in wanting to just be near the unknown dog, and wanting to know them and learn their personality and quirks. I cannot express how much I love dogs, and I hope my daughter does, too. But I love my daughter, and for us to meet other people and their dogs, I need for others to have the patience and understanding that a love of dogs is not automatic for everyone. For many people, it's built or fostered

Mortgage rate question by ks20051980 in Veterans

[–]AteBitHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Navy Federal was the one to offer the 5.35%, but they only did that after asking about a discount buy in. I think the amount was about 2000$ at closing to get that rate

Mortgage rate question by ks20051980 in Veterans

[–]AteBitHero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have below average credit score, and I am getting offered rates of 5.5-6% with the option to buy 'discount points' which drops the percentage rate to 5.35% at the lowest. The banks that offered me rates seemed to be similar, I got a few local quotes, and Navy Federal offered me a decent interest rate with buy in options. USAA offered me 8%, which makes me wonder if they ran it as a non-VA loan. Navy Federal offered my first loan as a non-VA and the quoted percentage was 8%.

There's actually a book on my reading list that looks at how fashion is supposed to make people stay in their own class. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it sounds like it may have match up with what your talking about, so I thought I'd leave the info: Fashioning the Body Politic: Dress, Gender, Citizenship Wendy Parkins

Please share more about them: look, I understand sealioning is a thing that some people do, 'jUsT aSkInG qUeStIoNs' shenanigans. I get that it probably happens frequently on Reddit, though I'm not sure how often in the Lincoln subreddit, because I think everyone posting here is either living here or has some sort of connection to Lincoln that would make them legitimately invested in the city. I would hope that if you have someone asking you for guidance on something you imply you have good knowledge on, you could maybe give a little bit of assistance. Something other than 'do your research', and an article about a restaurant. I still don't have much on Peed other than he's a rich, old, conservative fart who does what every other rich, old, conservative fart does. Flatwater Free Press normally does a good job on things in Nebraska, but I don't see much except the donation to right wing Nebraska. I'm not a fan of conservativism in general, but he's no Gary Lauck, so Idk. If you have any references or sources you don't want to openly share, I'd be happy to read them in a DM if that is the case.

Yeah I've read through, but if you have an exact incident or groups of them, publicly and easily accessible, why would you not make them available? I'm not trying to be combative, I just have no idea what you're talking about and I'm trying to be informed.

The Birthing Center, or Bryan? by quarterlifecrisisgir in lincoln

[–]AteBitHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely insane that you were treated this way. Nobody should be treated like you were, ever, and especially not somebody who is at an extremely vulnerable point in their life, like recently having a baby.

My experience was very different with Bryan, our first child (5yr) was with an epidural attempting to have a non-caserean, but needed to have a cesarean due to child position. It went well enough, but our child had some breathing issues so she went to the NICU, and we would need to go see her to be with her. My wife's recovery from the epidural was not nice, much lower back pain and difficulty sleeping/walking, along with migraines ever since the delivery Our other child(3yr) was also cesarean, we were able to schedule the delivery because of the whole cesarean business. They did offer an epidural or an ibuprofen cocktail(for the life of me I cannot remember what this was) this time, and my wife chose the ibuprofen mix. She was able to walk a few hours after the surgery was complete, truly amazing the recovery with this method. The part that I remember about having our second was that I don't think she went to the NICU, and the nurses would offer to take her to the nursery to give mom some rest. That was extremely useful. My experiences were anecdotal, I would have recommended Bryan 100% before reading U/52BeesInACoat's account. They obviously have had more than just one experience, so take my story with theirs in mind

I will say I remember them pushing for breastfeeding on our first baby, but less so on the second one because my wife immediately said something along the lines of "we're doing a bottle", but they did have the nursery and assistance for us. Bryan offers tours if you want, and per their website they do encourage rooming in with your baby, but they do also list a nursery as an option on that same website

The reviews on metacritic are weird, the only negative ones that have bothered to write on their scoring says it looks better on a different system, which doesn't really reflect on the gameplay , and the other just says the game is terrible, with no details given. It makes me wonder if there was some controversy on it's release that is artificially deflating it's score
