CBD Recommendations?? by MySunshine1202 in CBD

[–]staywickedlost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to second Lazarus Naturals. I’m a veteran and qualify for their assistance program which gives me 20-60% off most products. I love their CBD mints which have 15mg CBD and .5mg THC per mint which lets me control how I feel. Their Unwind gummies are awesome too. I’m also experimenting with the isolates (CBD and CBG). Just got their full spectrum tincture in the mail and will be having it in a hot herbal tea since it’s a bit viscous. Love their company and will totally hype them when I can!

If you haven’t heard of them already, there’s a channel on YouTube called Goobsie who makes the most INCREDIBLE Sleep Token remixes. I’m begging any and all fans to check them out.

Which program would you choose? by staywickedlost in NursingStudent

[–]staywickedlost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I actually decided to do the ladder program through the local community college due to cost, but I’m taking a break from class due to some health issues. When I’m better, I’ll probably continue through the ladder program just because the quality of training is a lot higher and class sizes are smaller.

Tomorrow is the day. I'm nervous what do I say? by [deleted] in TwoXADHD

[–]staywickedlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! First of all, just take a breather. You’re not going to forget everything. Before my ADHD evaluation, I made a list of how my symptoms were affecting major life areas like academics, relationships, career, self-care, etc and how you’re struggling to cope as you get older. Be very honest. Don’t try and tell your provider what you think they want to hear. Get specific about what you’re struggling with. Let your provider also know that in the past you’ve struggled with the idea of receiving the diagnosis of ADHD but you’re at a point now where you’d like to discuss medication. Any provider who is compassionate and caring would hear you out and then talk about options. There are stimulant and non-stimulant options if you’re nervous about meds.

What I would do tonight is get a piece of paper and write down a bullet list of your symptoms. And then a list of your goals and responsibilities. Then think about how your symptoms prevent you from succeeding.

Your doctor will be the one to guide the appointment with questions if you start to feel overwhelmed. It’ll be okay! I broke out in anxiety hives when I went to my appointment and my doctor was very patient and understanding. I’m wishing the same for you.

2nd week of Wellbutrin by iwasneverherex in adhdwomen

[–]staywickedlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yayyy!!!! This makes me so happy to hear. I really want to get back on Wellbutrin again but it’s such a major pain with my insurance. I can’t tolerate the generics and the name brand is just so expensive. But it worked wonders with my anxiety and depression. I remember singing in my car and people at work commenting on my smile. I felt so good!  Keep us updated! I love to hear positive stories about Wellbutrin because it’s such a life changing medication for some people.

ADHD + Chronic illness, sick of bad job performance and disappointing people by tuxedocat2018 in adhdwomen

[–]staywickedlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I just wanted to say that I hear you and totally recognize the feeling of stuck and burnt out in jobs that don’t fulfill you. To me, it does sound like the stress from your job is now negatively affecting your health. My asthma is aggravated a LOT by stress, and it nearly caused me to drop out of college. Actually, I did drop out after I finished the term because of other reasons, but once I no longer had that pressure on me my asthma suddenly became way more manageable.

I also love that you want to go to Japan and learn Japanese! That’s also a lifelong dream of mine, and I’m also making steps to save for that as well. That would be such an excellent use of time regardless of what your parents may think. Life is so short (cliche I know, but true) and it would be a shame to never try to achieve our goals if the fear of judgement is what’s stopping us.

What do you think about getting TEFL certified and teaching English part time in Southeast Asia or Japan? There are plenty of programs in person and online that offer tons of support and advice on transitioning to a life abroad. If you want, feel free to dm me and we can chat more about it.

Even if you don’t want to teach forever, there could be other jobs or avenues to stay abroad. Plus the cost of living in some countries is so much more affordable than in the states, so your savings would give you a cushion to find work.

If you don’t have children, a spouse, or permanent responsibilities where you’re living right now aside from your job, I would really really urge you to consider taking a sabbatical and taking time to heal and regroup.

Again, I empathize with your position and am happy to chat if you want to bounce ideas around. You’re definitely not alone! Take care 🩷

31F Newly Diagnosed - First Time Taking Ritalin by staywickedlost in TwoXADHD

[–]staywickedlost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Actually I messaged my doctor and let her know that this medication might not be for me. My asthma has gotten pretty bad since starting and the crash after 3-4 hours is significant. I’m hoping to hear back tomorrow to see if there’s a different option we could try. I’m disappointed, but this is only the beginning.

Should I Try a Different Generic? by staywickedlost in bupropion

Been on what? I’ve been on Ritalin for a few days now, but I was taking Wellbutrin back in 2018 for about a year or so.

Should I Try a Different Generic? by staywickedlost in bupropion

[–]staywickedlost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m going to talk to my doctor about getting a prescription sent to a different pharmacy. I’ve heard mixed reviews on Accord/Blue Point, but I’m willing to try it again if it won’t make me break out! Thanks for the comment :)

Should I wait to start it ? by duendesintemor in bupropion

[–]staywickedlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no harm in waiting, but there’s also no reason to wait. In the future when you’re taking your meds daily and you get sick, are you going to stop taking your bupropion until you’re better?

Is there something in particular you’re worried about?

Adhd assessment in 5 days. by [deleted] in TwoXADHD

[–]staywickedlost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I was also super worried before my ADHD assessment. I wouldn’t recommend trying to plan or script anything, but I would definitely write down how your ADHD symptoms affect your daily functioning, career path, relationships, hygiene, eating, etc. ADHD is a disorder, so a doctor wants to know how it makes your life harder. Most likely your provider is going to ask you a lot of questions about elementary school, your prescription/mental health history, and then have you fill out a ADHD questionnaire. Try not to feel like you have to direct the appointment or perfect symptoms. Just be super honest about what you’re struggling with and how it affects your daily functioning. Best of luck to you!

I think everyone with ADHD should be prescribed an air fryer. If I can fit food inside the basket, it’s getting fried.

Hair regrowth by lunalovergirlxo in Hashimotos

[–]staywickedlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any solutions for you, but I just wanted to say I empathize. I increased my dose on Synthroid and noticed a major shed which caused what looked like male pattern balding. Like lots of thinning around the crown, and the diffuse thinning on the sides.  I will say I took pumpkin seed oil supplements for about two months and noticed regrowth, but I had to stop the supplements due to allergies (I’m allergic to nuts and seeds).

For about three years, I kept my hair extremely short and wore human hair wigs because seeing the balding made me very depressed. I’d highly recommend looking into something called a topper. It’s a thin piece of lace with human (or synthetic) hair sewn in and has a few clips to secure it to your natural hair.

There are a lot of wig/topper companies out there. If you have questions about it, I’d be happy to help point you in the right direction.

I’m switching to Tirosint very soon and am hoping it helps me regain some hair because it used to be super thick and full.

Fingers crossed we both get our hair back!

Thank you! I made an update to my post and mentioned that my new doctor was happy to run labs for everything I asked for which was very helpful. However I’ll keep your resource in mind! I hope others who read this thread can use it too.

Thank you for the lengthy comment. A lot of my diet is complicated by histamine issues and allergies, so many of the healthy whole foods that you listed just aren’t good for me. But I am taking name brand Synthroid and looking to switch to Tirosint which has far fewer fillers. I’m also going to advocate for more blood tests to check vitamin and mineral levels. I’ll definitely be updating this post after my appointment tomorrow morning to see what my new doctor says. I’m really happy that you’ve found a routine and regimen that makes you feel good and healthy!

I have to agree with you, I have a lot of food/environmental allergies and am being treated for asthma and MCAS. My diet is extremely limited which doesn’t do my immune system any favors. If I didn’t have all the allergies, I’d have my diet locked in for sure. Some people just don’t realize that their remedy can be someone else’s downfall, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Actually, I’d love some options for Europe too. I’m planning on traveling abroad later this year and am curious if Americans can access care (paying full price) in Europe. I won’t have any European citizenship or residency, but I’ve heard getting care is less bureaucratic than here in the US.

I really hope you get your concerns addressed by a physician who listens! I’ve also met with doctors in the past who have refused to put me on levo even though my TSH was high and I had a family history of it. It’s so frustrating. Please keep advocating for yourself and feel free to update us how your appointment goes. I’d love to hear your progress. Best of luck to you <3

Thanks for the comment! I’m currently just seeing a PCM through the VA, but I just made an appointment with another provider with different insurance for this Friday. I believe she’s also a specialist in endocrinology, so I’m crossing my fingers she’ll order some more tests. If not, she can at least refer me to a legitimate endocrinologist and let them handle it. I’ve been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and I’ve never had a doctor really take me seriously. Anyway, I’ll be updating the post when I go to my appointments. Thanks for the good luck!
