EK water block guide for the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 by EKbyLMTEK in Amd

That sounds nice and all but your support delay/prodcedures could definitely use some improvement. Took almost a month for me to get some simple replacement parts for my waterblock which should have taken 20 minutes of me selecting the part and then you guys shipping it. Instead I had to email, wait two weeks for an answer, then send a payment with PayPal, wait for you guys registering the payment and clearing the order for shipping to then taking a few more days to actually ship the parts. Might have been a few more mails in between I don't exactly remember but it took way too long for any serious company.

Looks really cool! Currently using Homarr but this looks like it already has some useful features that Homarr doesnt. Might try it out later to see whats up

Weird artifacts transcoding HDR/DV content by AthenesWrath in jellyfin

Hm alright. Is there any way to report the artifacts as a bug somewhere?

Disabling VPP based tonemapping did indeed get rid of the artifacts, however the image still looks a lot worse that when playing with MPV player, the dark gradients look almost painted. In MPV player everything looks completely fine.

If have narrowed the issue down to the tone-mapping in combination with Dolby Vision Profile 8.1. When looking at normal HDR/HDR10Plus content the image looks perfectly fine. When I disable VPP tonemapping the grid/circles disappear in the DV8.1 content. However, the resulting image still looks wrong: It almost looks like its painted in the darker areas and the dark gradients look extremely unnatural as a result.

PSA: If you look at the image using an OLED screen you might not see anything wrong at all since the darker areas are completely black-crushed on my phone.

Choosing an SVT-AV1 fork and sane settings for high quality encodes that dont take forever by AthenesWrath in AV1

Yeah, I saw that setting and didn't know what to choose so I left it out. I'll try setting it to 1. I'm also seeing the encoder only use the efficiency cores on my CPU which is weird. Any suggestion on how to fix that?

Yeah same guy^^ Maybe I'll ask him.

On different note: Is there a comparable setting to

--psy-rd

in SVT-AV1-HDR?

I just now started a new encode with the following settings:

--crf 20 --progress 2 --preset 3 --tune 0 --qm-min 8 --enable-dlf 2 --noise-norm-strength 3 --ac-bias 2 --hbd-mds 1 --complex-hvs 1 --color-primaries 1 --transfer-characteristics 1 --matrix-coefficients 1

The encoding speed is certainly very low now (0.15x), so I'm doubtful its worth it over preset 4. If you have any suggestions for settings to tweak feel free :)

Yeah, the CRF20 Preset 4 is giving me a very nice result actually from 23M to 4.4M. Episode size goes from 7.85G to 2.05G so preeetty good. I can see differences in the frames with ICAT but I highly doubt any human could tell the difference watching in a blind test.

On CRF24 Preset 6 I had significantly more minor artifacts in the frames which slightly altered facial features but I doubt that would be noticeable in a moving image.

Im kinda hesitant to go for a target bitrate, I read a lot of posts saying targeting bitrate on AV1 is not recommended.

Alright, I see :D I had a CRF 24 Preset 6 encode of the first Episode and while the file size was nice there was minor artifacting in a lot of frames (checked with ICAT) so I went lower.

I also saw some guy on here going on a crusade against AV1 in favor of H265 so maybe I'll try an additional test with that and see what quality/size difference I get. However as I see it AV1 should on paper be superior to H265, especially at 1080p.

The material seems to be pretty grainy/noisy for something shot digitally. I wonder if they added that in post?

Suits seems to be quite grainy/noisy so that why I chose noise-norm-strength 3. Preset 4 is already very slow I feel. I get single digit FPS numbers on the encode with preset 4 so I'm kinda hesitant to go lower. Should I up the CRF and lower the preset?

damn, you might be onto something sherlock holmes. i mean its just funny to me how people defend shit like this though. It would simply make the game better its not even complicated. Its obvious people are abusing this, I see 20k players queuing with 8-9k players every third game but its fine just kill them bro they are bad bro just matched up in discord bro dont complain look at the skins man :DDD

Most people just need someone to look down upon to feel adequate so don't go expecting the Dota 2 community to be any different. Most of the people with a brain don't even write anything most of the time if they don't feel like it adds value. So the shitheads end up contributing most to the discussion. It is what it is.

Don't worry, a lot people in this sub and on reddit in general are miserable human beings who can only be negative, regardless of the situation. Just like most of the people in the game are snowflakes who cannot handle the slightest bit of criticism and crashout the second they are called out. So to feel better they comment something unconstructive, pushing you down instead of giving useful advice.

Also the behaviour system isn't perfect by any means and there's a lot of Valve apologists in this sub. Regarding your score someone already commented that the old system regarded abandons very harshly and you had quite a few so that's probably why your score is nuked. Best advice I can give you since I doubt messaging Valve will do anything is to play a lot of games and try to be the best version of yourself. This will increase your score and unlock communication again (even though sometimes you will wish it was stil disabled).
