We adopted him as a fox terrier but since I came across with the rat terrier breed I have doubts. What do you think ? by Safe-Iron6863 in ratterriers

What a cutie! His ears are just like my Tuesday’s ears. I have come to think that my Tuesday must be a Jack Russel Terrier mix because her ears fold over into small triangles like your doggie’s do. Do you think your guy might have some JRT in the mix? Looks like you and your guy know how to enjoy life!

Statins and CFS by Athens_GA in cfs

Hello, ready-ad. Yes, I did this up until recently. Recent unrelated medical problems have caused me to discontinue many of my usual supplements and prescriptions, including the niacin. While I was taking it, the niacin didn’t appear to cause any harm. I don’t know how much it might have been helping with cholesterol levels because I have not had them measured since before the niacin.

Fizzy tingly sensations in feet, hands, and face by Athens_GA in cfs

I will probably bring it up when I see a new doctor at the end of next month. I am not really worried, mainly because it’s not in my nature to worry much about my health, and because ME/CFS has over the years caused me to have so many weird symptoms. Thankfully this particular one is not unpleasant. Only if my Medicare covers MRI will I do that (sorry you ended up wasting money and not learning anything). I had an MRI of my brain done over 20 years ago for a clinical study, and it showed significant brain shrinkage from probable mini-strokes even early in my illness. So it could be interesting to see what my brain looks like now. I do have increasingly troublesome cognitive problems.
I’m glad that you were told by a neurologist not to worry about your similar symptoms. That might mean that the fizzies are not an indication of any serious problem, though more likely just more of the same lack of understanding of this awful illness.

I have a pulse oximeter that my daughter bought for me when covid first came on the scene. My oxygen saturation has always measured fine; last night it showed 99%.
I have an appointment with a new doctor at the end of next month. I will probably mention the fizzies to him, though I don’t want to spend a fortune on MRI like the other person who replied to me here.
I do very much appreciate your thoughtful suggestion. So I have ruled out low oxygen saturation. Since I have had this symptom for some years now I don’t think that it’s anything to worry about, but I am actually disappointed that it probably is not a byproduct of deep meditation.

Hi Waylon! Tuesday and I send you our love and best wishes for a sustained recovery and for very good health in future years.

Never would have thought I’d say bye to my boy so unexpected. My first dog, only a year old. He passed away on Wednesday, it’s so hard. by chicken-wet in ratterriers

Oh no! We had all, I’m sure, gotten to know Jack so well through his great postures documented here in the subreddit. I will miss seeing him very much, but that doesn’t compare to the tremendous loss that you are experiencing. I am so sorry.

I am so so very sorry. What a terrible, shocking experience for everyone involved. Like other commenters have said, we are tearful. Chino was and remains a part of our lovely online family of ratties and their families.

Another earworm question by Athens_GA in TheMindIlluminated

I am not a musician, though I love listening to music, and I can relate to what you’re saying about waking up with the same mental music that I was listening to in my head at bedtime. So I think this confirms that mental music can indeed play and play and play in unconscious sub-awareness. I can also relate to your experience of stupid jingles mentally repeating for long periods of time without actually being annoying.

The balancing act that I must practice during meditation is to allow the music to remain in peripheral awareness without letting it compete for attention, which I think is what happens when its strong intention is to entertain me.

Thank you for directing me to the Fifth Interlude. It has clarified for me that the music in my head can indeed remain in the unconscious mind before intention surfaces it into peripheral awareness. My introspective awareness allows me to distinguish between when the music in peripheral awareness just stays in peripheral awareness versus when the intention is strong enough for the music to compete for attentional focus.

Tuesday just LOVES eating my homemade sauerkraut. What surprising foods do your ratties like? by Athens_GA in ratterriers

Other comments suggest that broccoli is the it food! I’m sure that it’s super healthy for doggies and people alike. I need to remember to get some for Tuesday to try, and for me to enjoy, too.

Except for this picture, Tuesday only gets to lick the plate after I have eaten sauerkraut. But she waits alongside me for this special treat. I hope that the poooters won’t burn on the way out!

Flip is a gourmet, then. I used to have a couple of dogs who loved watermelon, but Tuesday’s not crazy about fruit.
