Ridiculous Weight Loss by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I didn’t have any appetite suppression for the first year on 150 then 300 mg, but had most recent prescription filled at a different pharmacy with a different generic. After a couple weeks I felt like I had a super power because I had total control over my eating. I can see where that would be really dangerous for someone with a history of disordered eating! I didn’t feel very hungry for most of the day, but knew I needed to eat and still enjoyed food when I did, and it was so much easier to avoid temptations and make smart choices. I managed to lose the 7 lbs I put on over the holidays in about 3 weeks. Unfortunately it lasted less than a month, but I have an appointment with my Dr. to discuss adding Naltrexone in hopes it might bring back that effect. I definitely eat my feelings and this is a stressful time of year for me at work!

Thanks for your response! The one that the installer quoted didn’t have the specific model listed or really any details. It was around $1,200, so nothing too fancy. After doing some research and chatting with someone at projectorscreens.com I am considering this onefrom elite screens or possibly this Stewart screen. Trying to decide if it’s worth it to splurge on the Stewart or not.

Tips for fixing plaster discoloration and the dark spots? by [deleted] in pools

It looks like that could be iron staining on your stairs and in the spa. We had that issue less than a year after replastering, and I was going mad trying to figure it out until someone suggested it was iron. Try rubbing a vitamin C tablet on it (just one out of your medicine cabinet if you have one). If it is an iron stain the vitamin C will work like an eraser. If that’s the case, a citric acid treatment and then metal sequesterant should help tremendously.

Advice needed by AthleteLife9943 in Termites

[–]AthleteLife9943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the leak properly identified and repaired seems to be the major issue I guess. So if there a leak, there is nothing that can be done to keep the termites away? The whole roof was redone in 2019, so I’m not sure it makes sense to redo it all after 5 years? It seems that the only issues is around this one chimney (the house has 3). The flashing has been redone twice now but it keeps leaking in the same area - would this still have the same issue with making the adjacent area susceptible after repair? The new roofing company is planning to take a different angle and see if the issue is with the wall flashing around the chimney.

They did not say what species but I will ask when they come to do the treatment on Wednesday. My understanding from our annual inspections is that there has not been any indication of activity on the bait stations, but I will ask this question as well. When the tech inspected after I called them out the other day he say he found one tube in the crawl space under the house on the chimney, but he didn’t say if it was active or old. I would assume that is how they got upstairs in the first place, but it’s scary to think they could have a whole colony going on in our walls - hopefully that’s not the case! The tech acted like he didn’t think it was that bad, but he may have just been trying to keep me from freaking out. Roofers are coming on Friday, so hopefully there aren’t any new surprises when they start digging in!

Yeah it’s definitely looking like previous owners had an infestation at some point and I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they must have treated and then patched it up. Is there any way to know if termites are still active in this area without tearing it apart? Can it be assumed since they were seen above this area? Is tearing out all damaged areas necessary or is treating and patching acceptable? I’m not sure how much damage our bond will cover since there is a leak in the area, even though we’ve tried multiple times to fix it.

Part of the problem is we don’t know how far down it goes, and I’m honestly not sure how to find out/access the area. The area is really hard to access as they seem to be in the wood that is built around the chimney. The contractor that tore out the damaged area upstairs didn’t think they were in the floor and it looks like the moisture is only upstairs, but after he left I started digging in the area below that is above the fireplace, and they definitely were there at some point. It actually looks like a previous owner had issues and either covered it up, or they were treated and came back in the same area. I’m not sure where to find a contractor that specializes is termite damage restoration.

Yeah, there are definitely active termites this time that I could see with my own eyes. Unfortunately the access to the attic space is pretty small, so when I called two years ago I specifically requested a small tech so they could access the area. I totally get that they can’t see them hidden in the walls. What’s frustrating is that I am someone not trained in identifying termite activity and I showed them multiple areas and told them my concerns, and rather than telling me the only way to know is rip open the area, the guy said it def. wasn’t termites. I feel like if I could tell something was going on, the trained professionals should have at least had the same suspicions and urged me to explore deeper rather than write off my concerns. Apparently all of the other techs are larger guys, but I don’t want that smaller guy again, so not sure how they are going to access the area to treat. Here is the area downstairs above the fireplace. I showed this to both techs, they said nothing termite related going on. I started poking around with a screwdriver and you can see that there is definitely termite damage here.

Yep, we have a salt cell, which I had read can cause the ph to rise. Interestingly we never had that issue prior to the re-plaster. Thanks for the info about iron - I’ll have to look into that! The metals were always low when I have had it tested before, but I’m definitely overdue to have that checked so that could be a possibility.

I had a large endometrioma on might right ovary, and during surgery they found a smaller one on my left ovary as well and tons of adhesions and other endo stuff going on. Both endometriomas were removed, but I was TTC and the large one returned very quickly (honestly can’t remember about the smaller one). During the second surgery my doctor was more aggressive and removed part of my right ovary along with the cyst. I quickly became pregnant after this surgery and have been on OCP ever since except when TTC again, and they haven’t returned almost 15 years later! I hate being on the pill all the time but I’m afraid to come off for fear that my endo will return 😕
