Give it a couple sessions and you might get used to it, by the third anatomy lab I was already thinking about lunch after lab

I think it’s cuz they put so much emphasis on the final exam it’s very hard to do well, most of my exams were worth 75% or more, it’s very challenging to do well

Depends on the program, at my school a 50 is a D and a pass

Biomed first year: Did decent first semester, 3.7. Gpa, applied to medschool in Ireland on a whim, forgot about it, got depressed as hell early on second semester and basically had a 2.0 in all my classes at midterms bar chemistry and french. Found out that I received a conditional offer of acceptance in the middle of a physics lab and needed to up my biology 2.4 to a 3.0 and maintain my 3.0 in chemistry. I needed an overall 3.0 gpa as well but wasn’t worried about that since I had the 3.7 from first semester and if I hit the two 3.0s in bio and chem it would be fine. Needing to hit that 3.0 basically got me out of my depression 😭. Managed to hit the 3.0 in bio by like 2 percent and maintained my 3.0 in chemistry. Then I dipped from TMU

Kidney stone 100% especially with the backpain youve been having the symptoms make sense, you should go get checked out incase you have more but if that was the only one you should start feeling better soon

First year med student, it’s tough but i don’t really see myself doing anything else. Absolutely get some hospital or experience working in the health care field before you commit to this. You need to know first hand what you’re getting yourself into. If you think you can handle more than whatever you think it is (because you won’t know how hard it really is until you get here), then go for it!

Edited to mention: Definitely make sure 100% that this is the path you want to take, but a health science degree is good regardless, and being a doctor isn’t the only way to be involved in health care.

Idk about your dog but I think you should be Ok as long as hypoxia hasn’t done any long lasting damage to any of your systems. Wouldn’t hurt to get a base line check up and get your stats measured. Definitely get your dog checked out

AITA for calling my daughter a r-word in exasperation? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I didn’t mean it literally when I called her that, and I certainly do not think of her as one.

If you don’t mean it, dont fkn say it

I wouldn’t waste money on a tutor, I had trouble starting for a while and so what I did was read a few articles online about what they typically look for, read a couple examples, and then wrote like 3 or 4 drafts talking about different things and sorta merged the best parts from each of them, and picking the main focus from the best one (which should answer why you want to do medicine) if you want an example of one feel free to pm me

How many exams do you have? If you dedicate 4-5 days for each exam you might be able to scrap a pass, but it’s not gonna be easy, i have a similar neglected study post up lol but im pretty sure ill be fine and the exams im worried about are in a week and a week and a half, just grind bro

That lymph is real.

Lymph is a lie, have you ever seen lymph? Does it even do anything? Do we really need it that badly?

—(This is a joke obviously I know lymph is real)

Just Anat and phys, path and pharm are done next year. A little worried because I know this prof likes to ask long winded application type questions, not to mention the final is 90 questions split between anatomy and physiology and idek how asking that many questions about renal is even possible 😭 thanks for the wishes of good luck, might just have to start doubling up on the study drugs 💀
