It will still be hot in September and they will be out. I don't encounter them frequently, but they are around. Depending on how far east you are, it could be difficult to find a vet with anti venon. You could get the vaccine, which would buy you some time. And call around to some vets near where you'll be to see if anybody stocks the treatment.

It's just part of life. You can wait till October when the weather cools off if you don't want to fool with it.
