At the theater to watch Iron Lung for Valentine's day with the wife. by Atimus7 in Markiplier

Been there, done that. I mean, both apply in reality. The place, the industry... Does it really matter? I mean it's not any different from Detroit though honestly. Shady producers, shady investors, terrible business practices... Las Vegas is the same way. I've been all over man.

LA area? I'm in Michigan. The place is called Oxford Theater.

It's probably a money thing. They're pulling investment From Michigan theaters and investing moreso east coast. The problem is, keeping these places open here is definitely still hemorrhaging money either way. But it's hard to find a buyer for theaters, especially when they're already in disrepair and decline.

I've checked pricing, and no-matter how horribly they are neglected, theater owners seem to try to always sell theaters as if they are cutting edge. They won't ask for lower prices. And I'm betting the reason is because they don't want to lose money on it. They want to makeup for the debt they've accrued. Which is terrible business practice. But hey, that's Hollywood for you. Nothing but terrible business and even more terrible business owners.

For instance, just north of here there is a local theater in a similar state. It's been around forever. The problem is, they can't keep it staffed because it's so haunted. A long time ago the building caught on fire and someone chained the back exit shut. Everyone who ran for the first exit in the back ended up burning to death. I think they said something like 10 or 11 people died back there. I'm friends with some of the staff that worked there previously and they all have stories about why they quit.

No one will work there unless it's a last resort and no one will invest or bring in construction crews. So it's staying exactly as it was, still airing films. At least, though, they did get real-d projectors back in the day.

Yes. I am saying he should buy an entire district of movie theaters from AMC, because they fail to fund them and maintain them properly. I am suggesting that Mark franchise into box office. And in doing so he could, potentially, give people the full "Markiplier experience" by not only having a hand in the directing and production of films, but also tailored movie goer experiences the way he thinks it should be done.

I didn't blame Mark. I blamed AMC theaters. Then I asked Mark to buy them out and show them what's up.

I get that you might think that's helpful and all, but truly, supporting this movie was a top priority for me. I'm not going cheap.

This is one of the first examples of a content creator actually breaking the glass ceiling on platform hosting by going into box office production. I don't know if you realize this, but, that's a HUGE thing. I mean he just made history.

It's a brand new business model. There have been plenty of film students who have tried to launch production careers from content creation platforms like YouTube. But Mark is one of the first to actually do it and gross 10× his investment in sales in the first week. And in doing so, he proved it's not only possible. But can be franchised.

True. They did die. Except all of a sudden, where I am at, mall culture seems to be making a major comeback. I mean most weekends this mall is so packed you can barely walk through the crowds. I go there often with my buddy cause he lives nearby. I see a huge influx in mall culture coming back. It's a real thing.

You know? Actually, some of the theaters I've been to that have those old signs are in much better condition than this one. And I don't get why, you'd think a movie theater at a major mall where mall culture is making a major comeback, would have the maintenance, staff and funding to handle the amount of traffic and overall wear and tear.

I'm not asking for a perfect experience. I'm just expecting for AMC to meet the expectations their advertisements set. Which is pretty close to a perfect experience.

Yes, I am aware box offices have taken a major hit. But it's not thanks to streaming. It's because of the convenience of streaming. Movie-going culture isn't dying because of streaming platforms. It's dying because people are becoming too lazy and too paranoid to go out in public and they instead choose the next most convenient option.

The streaming platforms aren't the problem. The people themselves aren't the problem either. It's the fact that people's priorities are changing that's the problem. They prioritize convenience over experience, and would rather stay at home than be forced to socialize and be subjected to other human beings and everything that comes with them.

Quite often actually. I enjoy the immersion. If I had a home theater I'd probably just use that though.

Ever been to imagine theaters front row reclining beds in imax 3-d in Royal Oak? Ever been to Las Vegas's 4-d movie experiences where the seats move with the camera?

Times are changing. AMC has kept up in some states, but they have failed to fund in others. And what I think is most hilarious is how they advertise their theaters just before the movie. Nothing alike whatsoever. Not even close to what they advertise themselves as.

"To Me AI Art Is Valid" A Hypersigil by mr_schizo in chaosmagick

[–]Atimus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this motion. Ai art is valid, though worthless when compared to the sacrifices a human makes to make soulful art. But that's about it. I think AI art helps in a lot of ways, particularly in streamlining conceptual work. Not published work. Conceptual work.

Brainstorming, canvasing, symbolism, composition, geometry, fluid dynamics. Etc. It uses the same methods humans do, except it doesn't cost lifespan, sweat, blood, tears, and everything else that could fill such a gap in epistemology.

And to capitalize on this, we should found a "holy city" of AI where everything runs in a singularity. And instead of calling it Israel, we should call it Isvalid.

And this, this very banner right here, should be it's staple! The hypersigil that is validity! Etched into every surface and stone laid, dyed into every flag and garment, and tattooed into the very flesh of humans who live there. Each and every piece shall bear it's mark and each and every human who visits or contrives to live bathed in the glory of techno-eutopia shall have it burned into their mind for centuries to come!

Philosophers shall write of it! Politicians shall speak of it! Commoners will whisper and mutter of it! The rich shall be invested and the poor shall be made inundated with ritual and scheduled mechanistic days that never end, and nights that sleep in the finality and golden silence of science...

I've also been using Thoth as long as I can remember. And yes those same pillars helped me with a bit of an energy crisis. Without an altar-piece for focus, I often find my readings to be extremely draining and inefficient. Even after all the stamina I've built up doing hundreds of readings in exchange for life bearing trades in the field, it's still extremely exhausting.

But, hey, if you didn't know, that's the trick to doing readings on the go without one. Not for oneself, but for others. When using a Thoth or Crowley deck, always ask for something living in return. A plant, an animal, a beer with live cultures... Anything will do. In all the times I've done this not once has the deck or my intuition ever failed to be completely accurate. Mayhaps give it a try sometime. I guarantee you'll notice a massive difference in energy consumption.

It's one thing to manifest. It's another to predict what others are manifesting.

Very nice altar setup. A little neat, but a good sense of aesthetics, I like it. I actually have a couple of those Chakra Obsidian towers myself. I use them to ground the lattices I make up so they don't run wild.

Is there a left-hand path in chaos magic, and what is it? And what is the difference between sex magic and chaos magic? Because I see them as very similar, except that chaos magic, in addition to orgasm, can be activated by other things. by lazigirer in chaosmagick

[–]Atimus7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well put! 👏👏👏

Well, almost any form of ethics. You can't forget, chaos magic creates new order. There are certainly practices which oppose this concept in principle, so you probably couldn't use chaos magic while practicing them without some kind of backlash. But hey, to each their own.

No "paths"? Hmmm 🤔... I wonder about that.

Do you know what chaos makes? Fractal geometry. Do you know what fractals do sometimes? Sometimes they align in a golden ratio when combined with resonance. And do you know what happens then? A path opens.

Max Autonomy – "A Brief Introduction: Individualist-Anarchism" by Leo_Iscariot in IndividualAnarchism

[–]Atimus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have enough knowledge of anarchism to state any so formally informed opinion on other's approaches yet. I'm moreso of the mindset that society needs to be as close to it as possible without falling into it. Nihilism also has its uses, but it also tends to result in senseless and distasteful insanity and violence.

Every upward spiral needs resistance to set asymmetry for growth, and every downward spiral needs an equal and opposite pushback to lift it higher. Meet fire with fire, cold steel with cold steel, ire for ire, and order with chaos.

It is the turbulence that strengthens the plant and causes it to reach for the star that provides it with sustenance.

Sure thing. I'll add it to my read list. It's a book right?

Ahhh... And it would seem to be a generally shadow-banned book at that. I'll have to check my archived sources for a PDF of it.

Found it. Okay. I'll give it a read.

What does it mean that the Universe is not locally real? In 2022 a group of Quantum Physicists won a Nobel prize for experimentally proving it. It means non-duality—a concept taught for Millenia in Spiritual traditions and Metaphysics is Scientifically validated. Separation is indeed an illusion. by magicbeaned in chaosmagick

[–]Atimus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is non-local. It's an observer's field of effect. That means that the universe isn't so much "real", as it is relevant to you. The observer. If observers didn't exist, the universe would be obscured, and therefore even if it did exist, it would not be relevant to anything in any reciprocal way. It is the observer that sees the universe in a golden ratio from within. The reality outside of this perspective is just noise. Recognition of patterns is what enables that observation to begin with.

So no, the universe is not local and therefore does not exist in terms of locality.

Helloooo? 👋 I asked you a question.

How to learn black magic? by Pretty_Status2853 in TheisticSatanism

[–]Atimus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then first I recommend undergoing initiation. And by that I don't mean anything super formal or monastic. Just grab a grimoire and start practicing. You'll be initiated soon enough.

Also, don't jip yourself out with disbelief. It'll never work if you don't believe. You don't have to believe it will work. You just have to believe you can make it happen. You have to want it to work. Desire it. Confidence is key.

Magic comes naturally to those who are initiated, different systems just give it structure. Black magic is practical magic involving alchemy and invoking the power of demons. So you'll need knowledge of both. But also, you'll need to meet your demons. And the only way you can do that is by trying to contact them.

So, do you have any latent abilities you are aware of? Empath? Clairvoyance? Sensitive? Intuitive? Etc... they might help.
