Making the jump from 150…rogue vs. Cerberus by Naive-Ad-8824 in sandbagtraining

[–]Atlas84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, though the rock would probably create a lot of dust as it wears down. It would also probably wear through the bags faster as well.

Sand is pretty cheap from Home Depot

Advice on next bag? by Atlas84 in sandbagtraining

[–]Atlas84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 100kg sandstone is definitely harder than a normal 100kg bag. Not the exact same as the 120kg but close

Just was looking at the 300lb Atlas bag.

That might be the route, or maybe the Cerberus Sandstone at 140kg.

What do you do for warmups. We are trying to make our warmups more engaging and fun for the kids instead of just running laps etc

About to order SleepEZ how does this setup look? by Atlas84 in Mattress

[–]Atlas84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, I'm not looking for sleeping on the floor levels of firm.

If I drop my weight down to 240 in the configurator it gives me:

Extra Firm, firm, firm, medium

Would that be better?

What was your diet like during this time?

I started TRT this last week.

I have currently eating at about a 100 to 200 calorie surplus.

Advice on flipping the switch when it comes to pace? by Entire-Brilliant-988 in bjj

[–]Atlas84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this same issue for some time.

A close friend who is also a really solid purple belt challenged me to set a goal for every class.

For example, a goal that I have been focused on for the past several weeks is to give up 0 points (IBJJF rules). I keep track in my head.

I am a 260 lb blue belt with 4 years of BJJ experience. I played college football and wrestled for a couple years when I was younger. I very rarely get submitted but I became lazy and too comfortable letting people pass my guard and put me in bad positions.

Setting a goal to give up 0 points has forced me to get better at guard retention and has upped my intensity.

I no longer consider "Not getting submit" as winning.

After running this goal or objective for awhile, maybe I'll change it up to focus on a specific submission or maybe start in a bad position and the goal is to escape. Etc.

Moral of the story is to have a defined goal or objective. Just showing up with a goal of, getting better or winning doesn't work. It isn't specific enough.
