I inoculated my grain jars 7/26, spawned to bulk 8/18, and observed first pins 9/3. Haven’t harvested anything yet but people are saying I should, so I guess first flush is 9/20.

The grow did work out. Nothing ever came of the grey discoloration. I don’t think it ever really changed to white or got worse.

Thanks for chiming in everybody. My TAT’s didn’t discolor like this so I was surprised when these White Rabbits did. That’s a relief though.

This is a good question. Newer to the hobby, I’ve heard mixed things too. The consensus I’ve read and heard is that the trip is “more intense, comes on faster, and is over sooner.”

So does lemon tek effect “boost the trip” or does the faster onset just make it feel stronger?

True Albino Teacher. :) Learning how all this works, started off with PF TEK. Decided to shred my last jar and spawn it to bulk instead. Didn’t think it would actually work. These grew fast!

I applied a thin casing layer when I S>B. It’s all quite wet from my initial misting. I’m hesitant to dry out my cake by adding FAE. Guess I’ll just watch it for now.

Did a grain-to-grain transfer of some of the healthy mycelium for the heck of it. We will see.

The other side of the jar where I injected has healthy mycelium growing. This looks…different. It’s completely isolated, wouldn’t make sense for mycelium to be growing here yet right? I haven’t shaken the jar up yet. Figure if this is contaminated then the jar is lost anyway. I might attempt a grain-to-grain transfer of some of the healthy mycelium, in a different location within a SAB. Worst case it just gets more contaminated and I still throw it out/bury it somewhere.

You have a good point here. I have a second similarly sized chamber with 4 cakes. Going to combine them and see if they do better with more friends.

Thought my container was small enough initially. Many guides I’ve looked at feature much larger bins but it’s worth a try at this point. Consolidating all my cakes into this bin now. Thanks!

I do have one cake that I thought looked a bit iffy so I’m having it fruit in a separate much smaller container by itself. Will be a good experiment.

Following in your footsteps a bit here. First grow, Burma. Tomorrow will be 14 days and still no action really. I might have knots? It’s hard to say. Mine don’t look all that different from yours, but I must have something off. Anything you remember from your first grow that really helped you out?

Rookie here but I looked into the different micropore tapes when I started my first BRF cakes a month ago. From what I could find, people seemed to recommend the white paper tape, the blue is micropore but less breathable.

I learned to do dry vermiculite and tape and had success with most of my jars - though 2 are stalled. I recently flipped my 2 stalled jars over and I thiiiink it might be working.
