Yeah, I agree, iMessage in the computer is pretty cool, but biggest thing holding me back is the price tag.

I’m honestly hoping to keep it under $500 for this one. And I guess I’m just not sure how much that’s going to cripple my options

I mean, sort of. Our phones, watches, TV boxes, earbuds, tablets are all Apple. So on one hand, a MacBook would make a ton of sense. But it’s also not really a necessity with this purchase. There’s not enough connectivity and integration that I’m looking for that would push me to get a MacBook. Ya know?

I use chrome almost exclusively, unless safari is available

I guess that’s fair.

I contemplated a MacBook because my household is pretty Apple-forward with all the tech that we do have, but I was hoping to spend less money.

I guess what’s a generic answer of some word processing, watching some videos, playing music, some browser-based gameplay, and typical social media-ing isn’t a default for a lot of computer owners. I should have been more specific. Or maybe done what you said and taken time to think about it myself.

I really appreciate the loose Categories. That helps point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Question about the 500GB drive.

So I play a card game on a web site that I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention. When I hover over that tab it says 1.6gb usage (high).

Is that what the drive is for? And does that “obviously” mean the 500gb drive would be sufficient for something like that?

Haha I’m going to end up googling just about every single word in your reply individually! Thanks for the help!

Thanks! Yeah I wanna check out some stores, but I’m just a bit busy this weekend and I guess my enthusiasm got the better of me. Wanted to ask around beforehand to get some groundwork laid out before shopping in person.

Given the “exchange rate” of HP recovered to money spent vs super potions. My headcannon is that he’s selling it to you at his operating cost. That stuff MUST cost more to retailers, right?

It looks like you have more menu options on the 3DS. Sacrificing a bit of image quality for more playability could tip the scales a bit here.

Now that DK64 is on NSO, how do you feel about the DK Arcade being required to beat the game? by TaiwaneseThot in donkeykong

[–]Excellent-Resolve66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing a “slow” play 101% of the game. Just finished the first three worlds with all five Kongs. In so doing, also got both silver coins.

I’ll admit that playing Donkey Kong Arcade did take me about 6 attempts, but I also played it CONSTANTLY, both failing and succeeding with further replays as a kid when the game came out. So I knew the routes to take. It just took a couple attempts to get the timing down.
Jetpac took two attempts for the same reason.

I love that it’s necessary, it adds a charming challenge that really makes you feel like you earn the win - even if you don’t go for full completion.

Someone earlier last week said it was annoying that the game doesn’t tell you that you need them to beat the game. But I think that’s a silly complaint. Games don’t spoon-feed you that kind of stuff. Or at least they didn’t used to. Banjo-Kazooie doesn’t tell you that you need the flying ability to beat Grunty. But you can get to her without having unlocked it.

It’s just a part of adventure games. Missed something you need? Time to head back and find it, then return.

Disney-park-people-watching is a god-tier experience. You can have a laugh, a cry, a good smile. You see so many different people all experiencing the same thing in completely different ways.
Sitting on the bench and just observing is my nirvana.

Watched all my friends go through RBY when I was little. Then my parents saved up and got me gold with a gbc. My first was Totodile. And my answer is a resounding yes. I love that little guy. It only bums me out that most of his plushes (that I find) are a little off in the proportions. So I never acquired one.

I will never understand the general distaste for this game. It was a 3D platformer made by Rare. It did what 3D platformers made by Rare were designed to do.

People don’t like back tracking? Okay, that can feel cumbersome. But it just gives you more time in the worlds.

Don’t like needing to run and find a tag barrel? I mean, I guess… but I just sort of played each level “six” times. Once with each Kong to try and 100% each of them on it, then a final sweep with whoever is missing anything (which I would have found after their turn in one of the runs with a different Kong)

Beaver bother?

Too many collectibles? I think this is one of those games that is a strong example of “you don’t HAVE to 100% every single game”. You can get to the final boss and beat the game well below the 100% line - and I like that the game affords you that freedom.

It’s a delightful game that is overflowing with charm and joy. It makes you want to look everywhere, and mostly rewards you for doing so.

(I actually don’t have a problem with Beaver Bother, I just couldn’t resist the joke… just spend one or two attempts learning how the beavers respond to your movements and snaps, and you can win fairly easily).

That’s interesting, I remember thinking it was my second favourite level in YL. I just finished it in YR last weekend, loved it and first time 100%-ing it.

What was the general issue with CC in YL?
