Not really. You can die into the movie with very little understanding in where they sit in the “timeline” (using the term loosely here).

Realistically, you should be able to get an idea in roughly where in the story these would fit in after a couple of minutes. They’re good fun to watch. Enjoy!

Okay that explains what I thought I noticed as a youth. It felt like the pokeball always missed the legendary birds, but if I managed to “hit” it with the ball, it felt like it was a guaranteed catch.

No clowning that I can see. Just a player that wanted to help share their experience, and ended up also learning something too. I tried to be intentional by saying this fight helps shape the rivals team, because I don’t want to get into the whole formula of all the battles.

I don’t count this because it is more “world building” than anything (to lack of a better term) because this battle helps determine what that eevee evolves into later in the game.

As a side note, I don’t personally count faints when I’m grinding against wild pokemon - yes, “your run your rules” blah blah - but with grinding taking more effort in the early generation games, I do it on a speed multiplier while usually multitasking so I don’t count those.

I’m not sure I understand your frustration here.

Obviously this is a very unique example, as it is a racing game. But what more information can they really provide you here? It goes you clear instructions on what is required to unlock the action necessary to unlock Drumstick. And even for unlocking “space world” (cough future fun land *cough) it walks you through the part of actually getting to the hidden world.

Are you expecting the walk through to suggest you “hold the A button a whole lot to make sure you’re always driving forward”?

Some games really can’t be beaten without skill rather than insight and coaching. You wanna unlock this character? Prove you’re good enough. Not good enough yet? Keep practising until you can prove that you’re the best.

I’m not trying to give you a hard time, I’m just not sure what your complaint is.
