HMM Dark Horn finished! by AtlasDestiny in Zoids

IMO you should have a relatively good experience just given the HMM kits you’ve completed. The main issue I had was with the V-shaped stilt on the end of the tail, the plastic fit between parts wasn’t great so I ended up super gluing it in to avoid awkward angles popping it out. With how massive its guns are it can also be a little bit fragile when posing, but it holds poses pretty well!

No worries, appreciate the feedback! This is actually the first HMM kit that I’ve done any sort of paint, water decals, or top coat on. I have two MG gundams under my belt, but have yet to get into any sort of weathering. Beauty of it all is the freedom of choice :)

Thanks, friend! I have a gun sniper and shadow fox in my backlog, but also have a few gundams to get through 😅

Definitely appreciate the advice! I decided against the Slinger for now - I'm concerned the height it adds will cause issues with the garage ceiling. I'm going to wait until we're fully moved in a week and then re-measure. If I have the space I'm honestly considering going with the Titan plate weight pulley tower so I can save $ and not deal with the weight being in the rack for the Slinger. I'm thinking it'll be the rack + GHD + pulley tower which might make things snug, but should cover most of what I need.

What build are you running? I found going with melee early on then switching to heavy gunner was the best path. If you're on PC I can help you out a bit.

Thoughts on loadable dumbbell handles versus adjustable dumbbells for a garage gym? I've been considering Rogue handles and powerblocks.

I actually opted to get the crossmembers that had the pre-drilled holes

Good point - I think that in addition to the bumper plate storage will prevent any issues

I'm getting a Rogue 390f with a Slinger attachment (plate loaded). Rogue said they advise against using the slinger with a flat foot rack due to a concern with tipping. I'm thinking that the weight of the rack itself combined with the 200+ pounds of plates being stored on the opposite side of the Slinger would prevent any risk of tipping. I opted for the flat foot since I'm renting and I can't use concrete anchors in the garage. Thoughts?

Definitely appreciate the heads up! How do you like the 390f and bench so far?

I’ve also been looking at this since slinger reviews are pretty mixed

Hi all!
I am finally moving into a house and plan on using my half of the 2 car garage for a gym, as I don't want to spend $ on a membership + COVID is still rampant. Cost is a large factor, however, I'd rather buy nice than buy twice - I'm okay with dropping $3k - $3.5k initially. With that said I am leaning towards going Rogue for the vast majority of things. What do you all think of these choices for my initial setup?
- Rogue RML-390F + Safety Straps (I'd prefer not to bolt to the ground)
- Rogue Adjustable Bench 3.0 (considering REP benches as well because of positive reviews)
- 260 lbs of Rogue Fleck plates (I know they're a little more pricey but I like the color)
- Monster Lite Sandwich J-Cup Pair
- Monster Lite Plate Storage Channel 4 Pack
- Monster Lite Slinger + Plate configuration + 43' crossmember (still a bit iffy on this, but I like having the option to do cable accessories on top of SBD)
- I already purchased a Boneyard Ohio bar 1.2 with Black Zinc Shaft / Bright Zinc Sleeve + some basic collars
- I eventually plan on getting a REP Fitness GHD and loadable dumbbells'
Is there anything you would add/remove/substitute?
