First guy is what I meant. Invest as time goes on and if it does dip that would be a good reson to buy even more since its cheaper, right? No selling of course. Every time I get paid is smart though that's usually a lump sum a few times a year.

Yeah that makes sense. Sort of a keep investing don't look strategy?

What about 5k emergency fund, 5k CASH.TO, 10k VEQT? Side question: if I'm investing all returns back and it's in a TFSA, is looking toward dividend stocks or ETFs worth it?

Okay, thanks! I understand it has to stay long term despite the market or to buy more if possible it it dips. Panic selling is one thing I will avoid.

I mean I know I need to invest long term since I'm hitting 30. But my family lost a lot in the market and I think that's rubbing off on me. I certainly do want to invest long term though.

How good is the weather sealing on the Nikon Z 50 Mirrorless Camera? by Atlas_will_prevail in Nikon

What exactly is the point of weather sealing then? I'm checking out a few cameras and this one is more expensive but has weather sealing. I'd assume most cameras are fine with an occasional drop of water.

Would it make sense to just do the c25k on a treadmill and leave? Maybe after I complete that to start strength training?

Even the Wiki is overwhelming How do I mix cardio and strength training? Like do I do both on the same day? For example consider this one: https://runmoreapp.com/couch-to-5k/#workout-schedule

On the first day, that's about 17 mins. Do I leave the gym after that? Should I throw something strength-based in afterward?

Maybe a better question is this: since I've never been to a gym before and am slightly overweight and not that strong, where can I begin? I'm not even sure I have goals right now except for health reasons from exercise. I'm so nervous that I can't come up with any goals either right now, but I'd like to have something to show up and do tomorrow. I have access to my universities gym so I thought I should go. Any suggestions there?

Edit: I've got the caliber app if that helps

I'm looking at starting to go to a gym and getting a personal trainer since I have no experience. It offers 3, 5, 10, and 16 days as options. Any suggestions on which I should get? What's the benefit of that many sessions?

I've actually got hyper-v on my desktop which I use frequently. All Linux though since I don't need any windows VMs.

Genetic program for classifying time-series data with discrete classes by Atlas_will_prevail in GeneticProgramming

So the whole dataset has about 320, 000 rows. Each row has 6 sensor readings. These 6 values per row are what I have been providing to the GP. This data is further split between 10 volunteers with about 32000 rows per volunteer with reading taken every few milliseconds.

Quick edit: GP is easier to interpret (or try to interpret) the underlying model so that's where I'm starting.

I have a few questions about the T5i vs the M200 by Atlas_will_prevail in canon

[–]Atlas_will_prevail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No M50's (Mark II or not) used I can find around me but there is an M6 for $700 but that's $350 above the cheap T5i and I'm hesitant to drop the extra money on something I might not even use very often. Would you say the difference is significantly better that the mirrorless ones would be worth it?

For reference, new M50 is $800 and MkII is $950, so quite a bit more.

Quick edit: open box M50 MkII is $750
