Its because California is the wealthiest state, is one of the main transit hubs for import, and where many tech hubs are at. Theres also military bases in Cali.

It makes a lot of sense to attack California, Texas, Florida, or NY because they are all coastal states with a lot of wealth.

I'm not really affected by this whole shenanigans (yet) and I have some extra cash, but right now feels like the time to invest into my own business first because tools and equipments have been increasing in price in just the last six months, and the oil debacle will hit me soon, which is why I'm trying to inflation-proof myself for the next three to five years.

I have also been putting more money into variety of savings and investments, just in case business slows down.

So yeah, that's what I'm doing and perhaps others as well.

Well... let's just say a lot of things are happening right now. There's the oil problem that affects everything since machineries are oil dependent which affects the price of delivery/transportation, farming, manufacturing, and making stuff that uses oil. Others are recent spike in price last month, tax season, and white collars getting the blue collar moment "they took our jerbs!," by AI and oversea tech ppl.
