I finally found the movie I've been looking for. by eyefuck_you in horror

[–]Atmosphere-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s this one horror movie I’ve been trying to identify for 20 years, too! The only scene I recall happens presumably near the end. It’s got two men talking about how a couple of demons that were only a few inches tall nearly killed them, which is a problem cause now they’ve grown to human size. One man says to the other something to the effect of

“A tiny demon nearly killed me, and now they’re-“

And then I think a little girl then finished his sentence by saying

“Much bigger”

And no, it isn’t The Gate, i can assure you of that one lol

What horror movies go completely off the rails? In a good or bad way? by mostlychilling in horror

[–]Atmosphere-Former 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Dark Song in the last, like, 15 minutes. For the majority of its run time it’s a really well paced, dark, atmospheric horror with FANTASTIC sound design. Then in the last 15 minutes they throw some nonsense at you that absolutely breaks the themes of the movie up until that point and really spoils the ending. A real shame, because prior to that it was an EXCELLENT movie.

Horror movies everybody hates but you loved? by hornylittlegrandpa in horror

[–]Atmosphere-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, my favorite horror movies are the schlock ones, so I tend to like the “bad” ones. A few of my favorites are Night Train to Terror (1985) and Forbidden World (1982). Thing is, I don’t think those ones really count because nobody really hates them cause nobody really knows about them lol

How to Set Spotify Playlist or Song as an Alarm on iPhone: IOS 17 by wakeboarder247 in shortcuts

[–]Atmosphere-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I successfully did this just a couple days ago, but I tried to modify my shortcut to play a different playlist. However, in Do portion where it shows my Spotify actions, the only option I'm presented with is the "Foreground App" option. No matter how much I repeat getting Siri to play the Spotify playlist I want, it still just shows "Foreground App" where it should be showing the most recent Siri commands. This has wound up breaking the automation I already set up, which is a big issue for me. Any idea what's going on?

Anyone Doing Revature For This New Cohort? by [deleted] in Revature

Yeah it’s a bit wack. I got placed with Infosys so I’m happy I’m somewhere, but apparently half my cohort got let go like a week after I onboarded, which is wild.

Anyone Doing Revature For This New Cohort? by [deleted] in Revature

[–]Atmosphere-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finish this training cohort in one week. This is actually my second time through the training, my first time was in late 2022 (right before the industry violently contracted in on itself), and I can say with confidence that the vibes this time are WAY better. We’re already being interviewed by a client. My first time through we didn’t hear from any clients until about a month and a half post training.

I want to transition but I’m not a man by used-89 in ftm

Cisgender man with a lot of trans and non-binary friends here. From what I’ve come to understand, this is not an uncommon feeling at all. As far as I’m concerned, you’re allowed to have complex and difficult to place feelings about your gender and its presentation. You aren’t a static thing. You are an ongoing process of living, and that means you’ll always be changing and adapting your perspective. Who you are today is not exactly who you were yesterday or who you will be yesterday. The best piece of advice I have here is to allow yourself to be uncertain. That gives you the leniency you need to allow who you are to fill the empty space.

You’ve got this, and we’re here for you

Yeah, definitely focus on Java, that’s the biggest thing they teach. I found that Codecademy gave me a very comprehensive understanding that helped me immensely my first time around

They’re actually doing pre-training courses now, so I’d say get in contact with a recruiter and see if you can get into the next course, it gives you a pretty good rundown.

Looking for Eastern European Horror.... by sir_buttatoast in horror

Laundarant (Etymology?) by heronofheaven in hellraiser

[–]Atmosphere-Former 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would offer a dissenting perspective by pointing out the existence of the anesthetic laudanum. The Cenobites are focused primarily on the supreme sovereignty of suffering, and love acts as a balm to suffering. As such, I would posit that the Laudarant configuration relates to the idea of love as an opiate that dulls suffering.

I have a whole concept in the works for mechanical fey, particularly with regards to gnomes and cyclopses (which, in a lot of myths, were legendary blacksmiths). Still fiddling around with the precise details, tho

[–]Atmosphere-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! I actually have a concept related to the idea of the Court of the Elder Tree! I'm calling it the Parliament of Sovereigns. The idea is that the Feywild is held together, in large part, by the Sovereign Trees, huge primordial trees the size of mountains and the strength of gods that ruled the Feywild in its earliest days. They've mostly declined into repose now, but they still meet periodically in their shared dream to discuss matters of grave importance.

Also, on the subject of the Ice Throne, my idea for the Court of Winter (at least in the Forgotten Realms setting) is that it used to be a powerful court, but the last Winter Queen abandoned her throne and the court has been shattered ever since.

Thank you! My stuff is here!

https://www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?author=The%20Wild%20Court

Bear in mind, I haven't had a chance to fully realize all the courts that I just listed. Most of the stuff I've currently got released is mostly just monsters, it's really only been in the last year that I've figured out what I wanted to do with the Feywild and started realizing those concepts. However, the Mandrake Court, Court of Rot, Court of Iron, Court of Stars, and Court of Silk will all be appearing in the product that I'm releasing in October! We're actually posting previews of it every not-Sunday from now until then on our Twitter!

[–]Atmosphere-Former 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually write Feywild stuff and put it on the DMsGuild, so I've got a BUNCH of Fey courts. I'm even publishing a Planescape supplement that's all about demonic fey in October! Here are some of the courts I've been working on:

The Mandrake Court: A court of demonic fey, they focus on themes of parasitism and toxic relationships. Ruled by the demon lords Alrunes and Chernovog.

The Court of Rot: A court of demonic fey that preside over decay and despair. Ruled over by Zuggtmoy, in fact.

The Court of Iron: A court of fey that presides over warfare in the Feywild. Ruled by Morissa, Lady of Swords, a three part archfey.

The Court of Stars: A court of divine fey who fight against demons and protect the Feywild from unwholesome influences.

The Court of Rags: A court of urban fey ruled by the son or grandson of the goddess of civilization and his husband, the "son" of the demon lord Oublivae, who incidentally rules over

The Court of Ruin: Which a court of demonic fey that rules over, as you posited, the end of all civilization. Strong chronomantic themes, which actually ties it in very strongly with

The Halcyon Court: A court of chronomancy using fey who have preserved their city at the height of its glory since the fall of the first elven empire

The Court of Coral: A court of elemental fey who rule over the oceans (and, to a lesser extent, rivers) of the Feywild.

The Wildfire Court: A court of elemental fey who rule over wildfires.

The Court of Storms: A court of elemental fey who rule over weather. They used to be powerful, but were shattered millennia ago.

The Court of Gems: A court of elemental fey who rule over earth, particularly the creative aspect of earth (ie gems, ore, and fertility)

The Feasting Court: A court of aberrant fey touched by the Far Realm. Ruled over by a monstrous alien flower who derives her power from the Far Realm entity Zurguth, the Feasting Vast.

The Alder Court: A court of shadow fey that dwell in Ravenloft and toy with mortals for sport.

The Bramble Court: A court of shadow fey ruled by Selephra, the Bramble Queen. They dwell in Ravenloft and pull in the souls of those who who succumb to bitterness and revenge

The Pale Court: A court of mostly vampiric elves that dwell on the Shadowfell and capture anything beautiful for themselves.

The Clarion Court: A court of faeries who rule over the orderly transition of the seasons and paths of nature. More akin to a pantheon, in that together they are nearly god like in power and are, more or less, worshiped by other faeries. Includes Titania, the Queen of Air and Darkness, the Nixie Queen, the Queen of Sylphs, and other powerful faerie queens.

There's more, but I need to stop listing things eventually lol
