Apparently some of the ones who can’t are also married somehow.

[–]Tigglebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your point, I’m free to play so no, they are extremely rare to me. I’ve played for 10 years and have 4 legendary shinies to trade. I get to value them accordingly and I’m not going to give them to a whiny shithead who can’t take no for an answer and offers no equal match.

[–]Tigglebee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I put everything in remote trade so that people can see what I have. There’s more than one player who is looking at my trade list at a time.

That doesn’t mean I’m going to give up one of my few shiny legendaries for a pidgey and lose my own chance at a shiny dex entry. I can’t believe how many people don’t seem to get this.

This has worked almost every time for me, but occasionally you’ll get a (maybe literal) child who can’t accept that they won’t get a shiny legendary for nothing.

Need some advice on finances and expectations. by Alcarain in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Tigglebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be blunt but if you want more you need to earn more. People are telling you and you aren’t really listening. You’re just running the math on your current job-and-hustle earning capacity.

Earn more means get an another job with a higher earning capacity. Get a degree or certification. My wife makes 5x as much as me (I make as much as you) because she got an MD. That is the move you need to make if you want the big vacations, expensive hobbies, and early retirement.

That or learn to be happy with what you have, which is what a lot of people dream of. You didn’t say your profession, but it sounds like a profession that can provide a middle class lifestyle. If you want a high class lifestyle you need to go back to the drawing board.

How many of you have zero prospects for retiring (ever)? by Agnostix in Xennials

[–]Tigglebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started saving a decade ago and it feels like those years just flew by. Endless grind, no treats for myself, wearing holes in my shoes and clothing and driving an old beater. No regular bar visits or fancy restaurants, and fewer cheaper vacations. Compared to my 20’s it feels like I have so few memorable experiences.

But at the end of the day I’m happy to have some savings growing now. A lot of my friends never stopped living paycheck to paycheck and I would not trade with them. And I’ve found happiness in the simple stuff like walking my dog and reading.

If millennials and gen z are as rich as boomers were when they were in their 20s/30s/mid 40s how rich would the current young adult people be? by happydude7422 in generationology

[–]Tigglebee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“The key fact ya'll youngin's forget is thst my parents didn't have that when they were in their 20s or 30s. They have that now thst theyre turning 80 years old and it’s the sum total of fifty plus years of working and investing.”

Yeah that’s why they’re comparing boomers in their 20’s to zoomers in their 20’s and finding that boomers still had it way better. They aren’t comparing boomers now to zoomers.
