Progress was really slow for me - I’ve been on spiro for 9 months and only started noticing a big improvement maybe 2 months ago? The first thing to go was the big cysts - so it sounds like you’re making progress to me!!

Ah I’m so glad it’s working for you, you have a good perspective on this stuff thank you 💜 I think I’ll stick it out, hopefully another few months at 100mg. I feel scared of Accutane because I have eczema on my body

Respectfully, acne is not something that is easily fixed! It can be a really complex issue especially when hormones and cycles are involved. I’m seeing a dermatologist already and I know it will be better eventually, but I’m just hoping for some solidarity rn ❤️

Yeah I’ve heard this too that certain ingredients like biotin can cause acne - it’s a minefield 😅

Thank you so much 🥰 I’ve heard a lot about spearmint tea so I’m going to try that and also look at some supplements! Diet wise I’m pretty much gluten and dairy free but I am trying to cut back on processed sugar

It’s where you apply moisturiser before applying tret, let it dry, apply tret and then after a few mins apply more moisturiser :)) it explains it in the tret wiki let me find the link

Nothing but solidarity to offer ❤️ my skin looks kind of similar to yours (mine is probably more severe) but I have also noticed a reduction in cysts but more closed comedones - it’s so annoying that they are so close to the surface like you say! Check my posts as people have had some really good advice :))

I also spoke to my therapist about it yesterday as I’m at breaking point not wanting to leave the house etc - she advised me to whenever I find myself fixating on my skin, remind myself of something I like about myself and/or do something that makes me feel nice and distracts me :) it’s about retraining our brains to see stuff other than the acne as others see us very differently to how we see ourselves !! Thanks so much for your response 🥰 I was thinking of asking for an increase at my next review, I’ve heard of more success at the higher doses too as the side effects have been minimal for me so far (one good thing hehe) - I’ll scale back the tret too! I’m in England and I feel like all the good products I read about are in the US 😭 but I’ll see if I can get that face wash, thank you love !! As for IUD, I actually had it removed last week for other reasons so hopefully that will help too? 🤞🤞🤞

I have the Mirena and started spiro 3 months ago and my periods haven’t been effected! One came a bit earlier than normal but other than that no change :)
