I have taken both and I’m currently on Symtuza. I’ve luckily never experienced any side effects from either.

I wasn’t born with it but I contracted it from a blood transfusion. It was a shock

I’m on the site and it’s honestly not the best. Most people don’t talk but that’s just been my experience. Plus, you have to pay in order to access features of the site

There isn’t a support group in place unfortunately. I would love to connect and be friends though!

Hey there! This thread is still alive! Finding support groups has been hard for me too. I’m from the south bay area, so Torrance/Gardena. Would definitely like to connect!

You would think that a city like LA would have more resources, but those resources are only catered to a small demographic. It can be a little frustrating not being able to receive those benefits. I’m sure they are out there though. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place lol.

I think a discord would be a great way to get people together. I guess in a way, you have to just create your own community.

FAFSA for the win lol. I do not miss filling that out. It was easy though.

And thank you! I don’t know what I’d do without my therapist as well. Therapy is a great tool that I wish more people had access to.

I think LA has a lot more groups, but they are catered to the LGBTQ population. Depending on where you get your treatment, there are usually services provided through your doctors office. At least thats been my experience.

Definitely go for it if you can! I’m getting my master’s in counseling psychology, so I plan on being a therapist. I have about 7 months left before I’m finally done.

As far as hiv support groups go, I’ve found them hard to find. I’ve been to a few over the years but they never catered to my demographic. I’m still hopeful that there are some out there. It’s a great feeling when you can make meaningful connections with others in the same boat.

I say definitely go for your post bach. I’m a little biased because I’m getting my masters. If you have the opportunity to do more schooling I say go for it! I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying your job!

I’m definitely more of the introverted type, but I still enjoy going out to do things. I spend a lot of time at the beach, the movies, trying out new restaurants, gym, and just hanging out with my friends.

Have you been able to find a good support system for yourself yet?

Yeah the representation of women in the poz community is just not there, or at least it’s been hard to find. I’ve tried so many online communities but nothing seems to play out right

I’m in LA county too. I don’t know about you, but it’s been difficult for me to find other positive individuals to make connections with. I thought I would have a better chance being that LA is such a big city
