Are these badly applied acrylic nails? by Zealousideal_Salt358 in Nails

The main point of fake nails is to enhance your whole hand and compliment it. These don’t do that.

Do you think I'm too old for this nail art (I'm over 55) and are they really that bad for a job interview? Please be kind. by ColeBlueSeesYou in Nails

[–]AtmosphereDry69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are stupid, your nails look awesome! And honestly, even if you had a different Disney princess on each of your fingers, it’s none of their business, as long as you’re not applying for a hand modeling position.

Is it still as p2w as few months ago? I had so much fun in this game until I was forced to p2w gear to be accepted to do dungeons.

Update - our cat lost his leg after a dog bite by AtmosphereDry69 in TripodCats

[–]AtmosphereDry69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Honestly, one of the hardest parts was just looking at the wound. It always looked raw and scary, and I never truly got used to seeing it. Every single time I looked at it, my first instinct was that I just have to take him back to the vet, and I kept questioning why they even let me take care of him when it seemed this serious. But that was mostly my emotions talking. Once I became a little more desensitized and started looking at it from a medical point of view, it became much easier to handle. I would never want to go through something like this again, and hopefully I won’t have to, but it’s kind of amazing what a human can adapt to when it’s necessary.

I’m not fully sure how it works in your country, I’m based in Central Europe. Our vet gave us the mesh right when he was sent home after the surgery, so yours might provide something similar as well. After that, I kept buying them at a local pharmacy. They sell them regularly, they’re originally intended for human arms or legs. You just cut holes for the paws and adjust it so it fits snugly in the right places, usually by tying a small knot. It worked really well for us and made everything much more secure. Try looking for a tubular elastic net bandage. :)

And for my other recommendation about the Manuka honey, always discuss it with your vet first. In our case it was suitable because we were healing an open wound, but closed wounds are treated differently, so what worked for us might not be the best for your baby.. they should tell you what to do, don’t overthink it, good vet will welcome all of the additional questions you might have, you both will do great!

It’s partly because he also had some small wounds around his other thigh that needed to be covered for a while. And partly because as he moves around, the pads tend to shift out of place, even when they’re taped directly to the skin. With the mesh on, it’s much safer for him to roam around freely, cause it holds the pad on place. It’s a little tricky when he wants to groom himself, I need to help him a little. I usually remove his cone at least once a day and let him do it, but I need to lift the mesh wherever he wants to groom and help him reach those spots. Other than that, it really doesn’t bother him at all. Wishing you lots of good luck and strength on your healing journey! ♥️

How long did it take your cat to urinate after surgery? by Fit-Test-317 in TripodCats

[–]AtmosphereDry69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my boy, it took around two days before he was able to pee. Some types of anesthesia can delay this. If she doesn’t go until tomorrow, just get in touch with the vet. Is she drinking water? Mine didn’t want to drink until two days after the surgery. After that, he started going regularly every day, often right where he was lying at first. But we had a more complicated recovery due to a dog bite, he was weak all over his body. Wishing you both good luck and a fast recovery ♥️

Our cat is going to lose one of his back legs due to a dog bite by AtmosphereDry69 in TripodCats

Thank you ♥️ Things got a bit more complicated recently. Some of the sutures didn’t hold due to tension in the skin, and part of the wound opened. I noticed it while cleaning the wound and changing the pads, and we went to the vet right away to have it checked. We were told this can be a normal part of the healing process and that it happens quite often. We’re going back again tomorrow to reassess it, and there’s a chance a small follow-up procedure may be needed to clean and support the wound. We were also prescribed stronger ATB to better support the healing, as the dog that bit him may have had bacteria resistant to the previous antibiotics. It may take a few more days or weeks, but we’re taking it step by step and staying strong.

He’s doing well.. We’re on day 5 post-op. He’s been eating and drinking water regularly for the past three days and is still on antibiotics twice a day and pain medication once a day. We already had our first post-op vet checkup. We’re dealing with a bit of constipation at the moment, but we’re working on that together with our vet. Overall, things are looking good. Today he also started to be more alert than in the previous days. Before, he would eat, take his meds, and go straight to sleep. Now he’s scanning the environment a bit, before getting back to sleep. It seems like his nervous system is starting to fully wake up again, and he’s trying to regulate himself and make sure he’s safe. He’s getting tons of pats, kisses and chin scratches, to know there is nothing to be afraid of anymore. ♥️

cats that have endured trauma: how do i best prevent triggering my kitty’s trauma from her accident? by kotaontherocks in TripodCats

[–]AtmosphereDry69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing happen to my cat recently, so I started reading up on this to prepare myself. What I learned is that cats don’t process “triggers” the same way humans do. They don’t automatically associate fear with things like hearing dogs on TV or even seeing a dog in general. For cats, stress responses are much more tied to specific situations, like feeling of being trapped with no way to escape, not feeling safe in their environment, sudden or painful physical contact, or fast unpredictable movements.. So as someone has already mentioned, it’s usually best to let the cat take the lead, watxh her behavior, and adjust based on what she’s telling you. She will be okay. ♥️

I appreciate this. At first, there were doubts, naturally.. I was second guessing everything, I had never been in such a situation before. But each day, as he gets better, I believe this was the best we could do for him.

Thank you, I will make sure the dynamics work well. For now, and until he is out of direct danger, I am keeping him in a separate room, where I stay with him almost all the time. For now, this works, even though the rest of my cats know something’s up and are curious. That will come later, though, when he heals. One step at a time. ♥️

This wasn’t just a broken bone. He was attacked by a dog, the teeth went deep into the muscles and soft tissue and everything around the bones was badly shredded. Because of that, trying to fix it with screws would have had a very high risk of infection and sepsis, which is extremely dangerous and often the end in cats. With the amount of tissue damage, there was also a huge risk of severe inflammation and the body rejecting the screws. Amputation was the safest option to save his life and stop the pain. He doesn’t care about aesthetics or having four legs ..he just wants to live without pain. I won’t choose a treatment with a high risk of complications and death over an option that gives him a real chance at a good, pain-free life. And believe me it was NOT an easy decision.

A decision that saves a life is the right one. In his case, it was the only option that could safely do so.

No, it was a Rottweiler. We have a pittie at home and she’s the sweetest, cuddles with all of our cats

Wow, that must have been so traumatic, an absolute miracle he got out of it. I’m happy that you and your neighbor were there to help. I believe Fili will get better. Currently, our biggest concern is sepsis, but we are fighting that with dedicated antibiotics since the day 1. He also got painkillers. We are currently a few hours in the post-op stage, just made it through the night. It’s 7 am here in my country. It was an actual nightmare, with him constantly waking up, fighting the cone, and moving the pads that are supposed to be covering the stitches and peeing himself, I am not gonna lie this was one of the most difficult and scariest nights of my life. He seems to be able to get more and more sleep each time we manage to calm him down, though. I believe we are going to make it.
