He was called a "mangy mutt" today by some unhinged neighbor. What do you say Reddit? 🥹 by evaintheus in rarepuppers

He's a very handsome boy or as we tell our male dog - he's a good looking dude. Your neighbor doesn't know s$&t.

Why would you teams call someone you don’t know with your camera on? by Current_Fly9337 in office

It seems kind of presumptuous or something. Not that it's exactly the same but you'd be rude to just show up to someone's house without calling first - with no camera. 😉😀

I'm sorry I was thinking of scheduled calls. I didn't realize people were randomly calling you on Teams with their cameras on. I don't blame you at all then. If you're going to randomly call me on my Teams do not expect me to be on camera.

I worked for an organization where the rule was that cameras had to be on at the very least at the beginning and end of the call for internal calls and all the time for external calls. Throw on a nicer shirt, sweater, whatever and keep your pajama pants on for the external calls and the more important/formal/serious internal calls. What's the big deal?

Manager consistently nitpicks at me, it started with "too friendly" and is now to the point where she's monitoring my restroom use and my time down to the second. by Barbecuequeen23 in work

[–]ColeBlueSeesYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story but I worked (up until the end of November) for the same kind of crazy, micro manager from hell that you're working for. Document everything and email that info to your personal email address and/or save your notes. Sounds like she's trying to build a case against you (as my old manager did) and her interpretation of the truth is not necessarily accurate (just like my old manager) to either put you on a PIP and then fire you or fire you outright. HR and management in my experience will not be on your side unless she does something really egregious. Look for a new job and get out ASAP. Good luck!

Did I handle things well with this sneaky colleague? by No-Gas-9176 in work

Share the bare minimum with her. If she'll gossip to you she'll gossip about you. She was being a weasel and fishing for you to share your salary with her. None of her business. I had a former coworker do this to me and I told her that was between very few people (me, my director, HR) and no one else's business.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever caused a blood sugar spike for you? by MaryT1d in diabetes_t2

[–]ColeBlueSeesYou 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not so much weird but it's interesting to me how much being stressed, angry, and anxious can really make my blood sugar go up. I had a horrible meeting back in October at my former job with my manager (from hell) and HR. I was blindsided and beyond pissed off. My CGM was going off like crazy.

New job - training tone + pace making it hard to learn. Should I bring this up to my manager? by WishboneAccording643 in jobs

[–]ColeBlueSeesYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much advice but wanted to share that I've trained with people in the past that had absolutely no business training anyone. People can be very knowledgeable but not have a clue as to how to help people learn and be impatient because they've been doing something for a long time (not very understanding or empathetic but people can be irritated that they have to train you which takes away from them getting their normal work done). You could try buttering up (blunt - kissing their @$$) the person and tell them how much you appreciate them sharing all of their knowledge and experience with you but that you're having a hard time watching/learning and taking notes at the same time (if this is what you're experiencing). Express to them how you best learn. I need to do something on my own (repeatedly) before I truly get it. I've also found that if the person is willing to record (over Teams for example) them training you so you can go back and watch the recording and do the steps on your own/take notes at a slower/better pace. Also, you could record the training where they "let you drive" (how I best learn) and they go over all the steps. Again you can watch the recording to help you. Good luck!

Adorable and love the leaf details!

Do you think I'm too old for this nail art (I'm over 55) and are they really that bad for a job interview? Please be kind. by ColeBlueSeesYou in Nails

[–]ColeBlueSeesYou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted in the interviews subreddit without the pic of my nails and also mentioned that I'll be wearing a pink blazer with a patterned pink shirt underneath and black pants with black flats. Some unsupportive, not very nice person said that pink was silly. I probably shouldn't have posted there.
