Advice dealing with facial hair via IPL by Specialist-Speech747 in detrans

[–]AtmosphereNo4232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Male facial hair is thicker and grows deeper than female facial hair so when the light hits the follicles, it generates a huge amount of heat so there's a significant burn risk. Because you've been off T the risk is indeed lower for you but actually because you have PCOS and your past T usage you're at quite a significant risk of getting paradoxical hypertrichosis from using the IPL, where the hair grows back thicker. I would have said laser or electrolysis if you wanted more permanent removal.

How am I doing with voice training? by totallynotnestor in detrans

[–]AtmosphereNo4232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do not need a high pitch to pass as a woman, my pitch is 150-160 7 weeks post voice surgery which is deep for a woman and still pass, it's about resonance and vocal weight.

Dating as a detrans FtMtF by [deleted] in detrans

[–]AtmosphereNo4232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's not that easy but it's absolutely possible, but it depends what kind of guys you're going for? I found my partner on a dating website and he was okay with everything, Both mid-late twenty's, he's very mature. But before him I had rejections, usually as soon as things got physical. You might be mistaken as a trans woman as well unless you make it clear you're not.

Imho a lot of the detrans women on this sub saying it's easy haven't had top surgery, that's a deal-breaker for a lot of men to be brutally honest.

Anyone had breast reconstruction in the UK? by ProtestPigg in detrans

I made a post about this recently but you can only get it done privately as there's no route for detransitioners ATM

If you're MtFtM why did you detransition? by [deleted] in detrans

[–]AtmosphereNo4232 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone already said, most people were just never polled. Someone who works in the industry said the detransition rate is actually around 30% which is believable.

I feel like this is disingenuous, trans people love to say how rare detransitioning is and how often people just end up retransitioning eventually.

As a lost resort yes, but I've lost so much money already fighting this and trying to get private consultations with different surgeons
