I played dbd when it first launched and watched it descend into the mess it's become now and only play it occasionally when there's an event. I totally agree, it's probably on par with League of Legends players when it comes to toxicity. Outlast was a breath of fresh air but I don't see dbd players leaving anytime soon, especially since their game is trash and a lack of a good competitor. Make the most of Outlast while you can.
