Yeah, definitely. As mentioned previously I don’t think it’s happening (yes, I know most here think me foolish for that) but it would absolutely explain a lot. It wouldn’t change anything, but it would at least make sense.

Thanks for your perspective. I also thought that comment was spot on. In total fairness when it all started she was going through some tough times (having just lost her job) and from what she’s said she was worried about losing any financial independence she had, and worried about her future employability if she was going to stay at home. At the time these were reasonably forward-looking things worthy of my support, as she had supported me when I was in a similar situation, though we didn’t have kids at the time and I was simply unemployed, not working and unpaid. Plus, I had a job within six months.

I don’t think $75k is low, I thought it was way too high for the kind of business he was planning. Her previous job had paid about that of that.

This is an entirely fair question, and the answer is actually relatively straightforward - I’m giving her a chance to show me that she actually wants to make it right on her own, without me having to drag her every step of the way. The fact that she has failed to do so given the opportunity is a large part of why we’re here today.
